"Are you sure he's here?" I whispered anxiously to the blondie. "I'm sure," she replied, giving the door a few more pounds.

"Ross, open up!" She yelled, after the silent room gave her no response.

Click.

Anna's and mine attention fixed on the doorknob, expecting it to twist. A gust of wind blew past my face, sending stray hairs into my mouth. After the attack, a pair of footsteps sounded in the distance. My heart started pounding again.

"There's someone coming," I told Anna in a whisper. "Thanks for the extra information," she whisperd to me, but her eyes were trained on the hallway. Suddenly, she grabbed my hand, jerking me.

And that's how we ended up hiding in the women's bathroom until we were no longer in danger. "You don't know if he's a girl, or a boy," I said wisely as we tried to slink across the hall. "What other ideas do you have?" She retorted back.

We rounded up to a corner. "I don't know, probably if I'm more familiar with this building," I said. She sighed; a sign of giving up. She knew that I wouldn't let her have the last sentence easily. So instead, she wordlessly took the lead.

"What now?" I asked. It was as if we were prowling around the structure, perhaps sneaking around to embezzle some cash. "We're finding Ross," Anna simply answered. My stomach did a leap. "What? I'm going to get caught!" I was very circumspect with Anna's plan, and slightly terrified.

"What other ideas do you have?" She repeated, rolling her eyes. I was annoyed. "I don't get it, if you're so frustrated and annoyed, why did you even bother to help me?"

She stiffened. "None of your business," she said sternly. I pushed her. "Why?" This time, she whirled around, her face bright red, and glared at me. "I had an incident, from when I was a young teenager. I saw an old man struggling to walk across the street. I pretended not to see, and about a minute later, he got hit by a car," she said solemnly.

I expected more explanation. "But how does that relate to my situation?" She eyed me, as if not believing what I asked. "When you see the chance to save someone, help someone, you take it, or the guilt will stick with you for the rest of your life," she quoted, turned back around, and started to slink towards another hall.

Speechless, I trailed after her footsteps, letting my mind wander off into nothing but white space, blank pages, empty heart.

"I'm sure he's here," Anna knocked on a door. This wasn't the door to a room, but a door to a lab. A lab that was meant for me, where Creators scrunity every little detail of my life. I thought it was unreasonable to kill me, but once they've made a decision, no one can change their minds, as Anna informed me.

The door to the lab is white, but a blurry window is placed in between the white parts of the object. I tried to peek through it, but it was too foggy.

Anna bit her lips as another awkward minute passed. I pounded on the door, its silence getting on my nerves. "Someone in there?" I shouted. Just as my hand was about to leave the wooden door, it moved. I squealed, tumbling forward, and into someone's arms.

I froze, my breath taken away. I slowly glance up at the person's face. I thought I was glad to see him, but my stomach did a turn, and I found it difficult to breathe. He looked down at me, scanning my face.

"You're here," he whispered softly. "Perfect." Anna comes between us, waving her hand at our faces. "Didn't know you guys are...that," she murmured. I get lost in his eyes, dazed, as he picked me up in a scoop, and carried me princess-style, trailing after Anna. I leaned against his chest, and listened to his steady heartbeat. My cheek was warm, against his skin.

Just then, Ross leaned down and whispered: "How are you?" I wasn't sure if this was a question. As long as I'm in his arms, with him, my heart continues beating. He must've heard my answer, saw it by my expression, because he glanced up and smiled to himself.

"You keep my heart beating, too."

A/N-oops boring chap.

Since I finished a book, I have more time to update!
I realized a lot of you are confused-I'm not sure why, is it because the book isn't detailed enough orr just that the story itself is a little confusing? tell me!!
