"Tell me something," I beseeched him. "I'm afriad I can't do that," he stretches his hands infront of him, his mouth opened for a yawn.

I was sitting upright against the wall, my eyes daring, gutsy. His posture was relaxed, and he was smiling oddly, yet serene. "You could, you could trick whoever you're working with, and then we'll make it out of this room."

I glanced around at the environment I spent most of my life in, abhorred by it. His eyes seemed to glisten, as he debated on my words. And then he smirked.

"You know there's cameras here, right?" My eyes widened. I glanced around wildly, my eyes scanning the dark corners of the room. "They're well hidden," he explained dryly.

My head spinned and throbbed. So whoever Ross was working with, had just broken my privacy for the past twelve years. I feel nauseated. They were observing my every move, so if I did something to embarrass myself..what would they think?

I can't think; I can't feel. I feel anger rising up in my throat, about to vociferate loudly. Something stops me. Not just anything, it was warm, ready to embrace me. I slapped it away when I realized it was Ross's hand, and I glared at him, displeased by his move.

But he is unstoppable. He reaches out for me again, and this time I didn't reject him. I felt warmth on my cheeks as he caressed my cheek again, just like the other day. But that feeling was gone. All gone. Instead, it was placed with an agonizing tactivity.

I know I've tensed up, because Ross chuckles. "I'm not going to bite, you know." I stare daggers, pressing my lips into a straight line. "I'd never know."

I am stubborn, I was positive of that. But what makes me?

Ross had shuffled to his feet. "Wait!" I called. "Where are you going?" He brushed back his bangs. "Somewhere you should not know." I watched him. When he looks at me one last time, his look was haunted, and then he disappeared, as if he dissolved into the shadows.

"Laura." Someone was disturbing me by fiercely shaking my body. I opened my eyes, dreading the environment before me. But no, I wasn't in the caliginous room. Instead, the complete opposite.

I was laying down on a soft, elastic ground. Alabaster kind of color, spread around the room. My blurry eyes made out a figure, the posture stiff.

Ross.

"I know you're awake," he whispers. "And don't talk, just listen." I felt my breath taken away, and a lump caught in my throat. I swallowed. "I'll agree to your deal, but keep it a secret or we'll both be in big trouble." His voice isn't appealing.

I hear his footsteps, like slippers on a hard ground, headed towards me. Once he knelt next to me, he lifted my chin, forcing him to look into his eyes.

"Relax," his breath tickled against my skin, and I shuddered. He stares at me, his face grave, almost subdued. His hard, secretive eyes skimmed my brooding face.

And then, scrupulously digged into his pockets, taking out a vial. He flipped opened the cap, I noted that his fingers are white. After I heard the 'pop', my eyelids felt heavy, hard, like a stone.

And I closed it.
