"Uhm, hey. I-I just want to, uhm, ask you out s-so-"
"No." I sharply said and twisted my heel away from the place. I didn't want to stay longer near any boy.
They're all just the same. Once they have you, they'll treat you like a princess. But once they're done, they'll throw you away like trash.
"Hey, Alexan-woah! What's with the face?" Jane asked as she sat beside me in our classroom.
"Nothing special." I said as I slumped back to my chair, unienterested to talk about the subject further.
"Oh, somebody's got confessed again, huh?" Carrie opened up as she wiggled her eyebrows at me.
Jane and Carrie are my best friends. I've known them ever since preschool so, it's no wonder that they would know me inside and out.
They might be my best friends but, they would always have that instance where they would likely drive me crazy and pull stupid pranks on me which is definitely, something I hate the most.
"Tell me about it." I sighed heavily as the both of them shrugged helplesly.
"You know what? Just get rid of that pointless hatred. It won't get you anywhere."
"Yeah. Enjoy the view of hot and sexy boys for once-oh, speak of hot boys. They're here." Jane said, winking at the 'populars'.
They walked as if they owned the place as the girls started drooling all over the place. I even heard them screech like crazy fan girls. Gross.
"Hey, babe." A voice slipped in from behind as I felt an arm on my shoulder.
"Get away from me, Chris." I glared sharply at the blonde boy and shoved his arm away forcefully.
"Why so pumped up?" Chris asked as he lifted his arms to defeat.
"Got confessed earlier." Carrie finished it for me, knowing I really don't like to talk anymore.
"What a bummer." Another voice popped in that I knew belongs to Clyde.
"Hey, hottie." Jane winked sexily at her boyfriend, Clyde.
Clyde and Chris are one of the 'populars' in school which included me, Jane and Carrie. I have known
them as long as I have met the girls. Even though they're my friends, the boys are still not an exeption to me.
"Hey." He said with a smirk as they cuddled romantically, not minding the people around them.
"I guess someone's got the hots right now. Why don't the both of you do it, too?" Carrie winked at the both of us. I knew she is hooking me up with Chris. It had always been like that since 1st grade. She had me go to blind dates with Chris but, I had always rejected him because I can never bring myself to like him no matter what I do. She may be my friend but there are times I hated her for that.
"So, Alexandra. Let's-"
"No. I've gotta go, girls. I need to go home." I said farewell and earned two little waves as I dashed outside the campus. I didn't want to stay there and watch them flirt with each other any longer.
I heard Chris call me but, I just ignored him and walked away. I wasn't in the mood to talk with anyone right now. Not even Chris nor Carrie.
I brought my phone to life and plugged my earphones in to get away from boredom inside the taxi. When my favorite music played, I hummed the tune and begun to close my eyes.
A lot has happened today and I feel so tired after all that. Right now, I just want to relax when I arrive home and go straight to bed to relax my mind from all the stress.
"Miss, we're already here." The taximan said assuringly with a smile. I realized that I drifted to sleep in the taxi so, I hurriedly paid for my fare and walked up to the doorstep of our home.
"I'm home." I said, opening the door.
"Welcome back, Alexandra." My nanny said with a warm smile on her face.
"Hey, Alexandra." Marie, my private maid said and showed a high five.
"Hey." I said and ignored her high five with a smirk.
"Oh no, you don't!" Marie called out and ran after me.
"Haha, stop it! By the way, where are they?" I asked, squirming my body away from her grasp.
"They're upstairs." Nanny said warmly with a smile. I nodded and marched to where my parents are. It's been a year since they left for Paris so, I'm not quite used to seeing them. But, I know everything's going to be alright.
"Hey, mom and-"
"Surprise, honey!" They screamed in unison when I opened the door to their room.
"Uhm, what are you doing?" I asked, looking at their weird hawaiian-looking costumes.
"We have a surprise for you!"
"What?" I asked, not liking their disturbing grins. They're really up to something but, everything will be surely fine as long as they won't let me stay away from-
"You're going to North Carolina!"
Okay. Maybe not.
"What?!" I screeched loudly. I was really okay with having to go along with their crazy vacation plans but, I never wanted to leave Vancouver, much specially spend all my summer vacation in North Carolina. I like the place but, I just don't want to go back there. Never again.
"You're going there, honey. We want you to go out and enjoy." Mom said firmly as she placed her hands on her hips.
"I'm fine here! I don't want to go there. I enjoy it here! My friends are here!" I fought back.
"You never go outside other than school." Mom stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"No. I won't go there." I said with a cold voice and stomped my way to my room. I know it's a bad thing to do since it's been so long since I last saw them but, I just can't bring myself to agree when it's spending my summer there.
Opening the door, revealed my dark and quiet room. I turned the lights up and threw myself on the comfy bed. I released a relieved sigh and shut my eyes close.
I just feel so weak right now that I want to get away from everything. My life has been a huge mess up and it couldn't get any better right now.
Plugging my earphones in, I bring my iphone to life and turned the music up to its highest volume to not let anything distract me.
I've been living with a shadow over
head.
I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed.
I've been lonely for so long.
Trapped in the past, I just can't seem to move on.I began to open my eyes when I heard the lyrics.
Trapped in the past, I just can't seem to move on..
Was I really trapped? Have I stillf not got over that? Thoughts filled my mind endlessly. I close my eyes shut and turned my phone off as I drifted into sleep.
