"Uhm just set that there." Jensen points. Jared sets the box down in the living room and then walks to the kitchen. "Thanks for helping us move in."
"Yeah. No problem."
"Well we spent 4000$ on furniture, so we're gonna have to stop spending this month." I say standing up from the dinning room table.
"We have enough for groceries though right?"
"Yes I saved out 200$ for that and whatever is left is going towards gas for the car and then after that we're gonna put it in our savings."
"I am so glad you're here because I hate doing the budget." I push some glasses up into the cupboard.
"Well.. We do have the uh the adoption money.."
"No. We're saving that." Jensen shakes his head. "We will have kids one day."
"Hey why don't you three take a break? Thomas made sandwiches." Gen says walking in.
"Break?" I ask.
"Break." Jensen nods. The four of us all walk out and down the block to Jareds.
"I'm gonna head out now." Gens baby sitter says.
"Ok thank you." She smiles.
"Jncle jay!" Thomas shouts running to Jensen. He picks him up and smiles.
"Hey bud."
"Can I stay with you tonight?"
"Oh baby no we gotta put our place together and then once it's all set up you can."
"Really?"
"Yeah." I walk into the kitchen and see tiny messy sandwiches on the counter. I frown to myself thinking about Eli and Elizabeth again but push those thoughts away quickly.
"And I got a gold star!" Thomas shouts just finishing his story as Jensen carries him into the kitchen.
"That is so cool." Jensen grins sitting down with Thomas still in his arms.
"I heard that you and misha can't adopt those two people but I love you and I'll be half of your kid."
"That means so much to us." Jensen kisses his forehead. "But your mom and dad need you to be all theirs."
"They're selfish." He giggles.
"They are!" He sets him down. "Why don't you go find your daddy."
"Hey if you wanna take our kids at least one day a week go ahead." Gen chuckles.
"Nah I think right now we're focusing on us." Jensen says.
"We just wanna get over this and then come back to the idea of adopting."
"I don't wanna barge into your life but.. You two didn't even meet them. I know it's sad what happened to them and you two would've been really good dads but move on ok? You guys didn't even meet them."
"But we could have raised them."
"You could have had a kid with Daneel but you don't cry over that."
"True but-"
"No. No butts I'm doing this for you two. Get back in the game. I'm sorry that that happened to him and it sucks so much but they would've wanted you two to move on with your life and not sit there and be sad." Gen walks away probably go go find Jared. Or just to make this more dramatic.
"She is righ.." I say softly. "We could've been amazing parents but we need to move on.."
"So.. Do you wanna keep going and adopt a kid or...what?"
"I wanna adopt."
"Ok then let's go home and finish this." Jensen reaches his hand out and I take it. "Positive?"
"Do you want to do this?"
"Absolutely but only if you're okay with it."
"I think we need to do this."
