He protects me

The bed creaks and I feel a sudden presence over me. Raising my hands I run the sleep out of my eyes before opening them to see a man sitting above me, my eyes widen as I see the man from last night, a sharp blade in his hand. My mouth opens on a scream but he places his hand over me to stop the sound from coming out. How is he alive!?" Now, now I dont want you waking up anyone. But this is an order from my Master from last night."

He raised the knife in the air and without hesitation my knee hits him where the sun never shines and the man groans in pain, taking this as a chance I get from under him and stand up. I start to run toward the door but before I can reach it and firm hand grips my ankle and I cry out as I fall to the ground.

"Oh no you dont pretty girl." The man chuckles as he drags me across the floor.

My nails claw at the hard wood floor when a name comes to my head." Alden help me, please!" I scream at the top of my lungs. I didnt know if he heard me or what but something told me I could very well trust him with my life. My body is flipped over and the cold blade of the knife is placed in my throat as the man leans over me." You just love to get me in trouble dont you girlie, well dont worry." The blade is pressed harder against my neck and I think its going to puncture my skin when the door to the room opened, tilting my head up to see Alden standing at the door, his midnight eyes darkening as he stares at the knife placed at my neck.

"Alden, buddy how are you sorry if we interrupted your sleep." Nervousness riddled the man's voice as he moved the knife.

"Get away from Katie." His voice holding no room for argument.

Like a Master to a slave the man gets from over me and stands up, taking a few steps away from me. Alden walks over to me and helps me stand up." Thank you again." A light blush rose on my cheeks.

"You dont need to thank me, but go downstairs and find Max."

I dont think as I nod and walk passed him, forcing myself to not look back as I walk out the room and go downstairs where a whole bunch of people have gathered in the loby, my eyes search the crowd and I find Max along with Jackson in the crowd." Max?" My voice alone is enough to catch his attention along with everyone else. The crowd parted as he walk through and up to me." Katie are you okay? Your shaking." Concern filled his voice as he approached me. Confused I looked down at my hands to see I was shaking and bad. I wasnt cold thats for sure.

What's going on?

Max placed a hand on my shoulder and leads me toward a couch to sit me down. A girl with light blonde hair walks over to me with a cup of tea in hand." Here, this will help." Thanking her I take the cup I sip some of the warm honey liquid and instantly feel myself relax and calm down. My body stops shaking as the liquid travels down my throat and settles nicely in my stomach. The sound of footsteps brings my eyes up as Alden walks downstairs, his hands are placed in his jacket pockets, I notice the hidden anger in his eyes." What happened?" A man asks.

"That fucking vampire Derek. He's getting on my nerves, if we dont do something I'll take things into my own hands and kill the basterd next time he sets foot on his land." Vampire? Jackson walks out of the crowd and stands in front of Alden." Alright man we get it that you hate them but you have to calm down. Getting angry wont help anything."

Watching this I could tell he wanted to, but it was like something inside him was restless, almost bloodthirsty. His gaze turned to me and it was like the anger was sucked out of him only to be replaced with sorrow." I'll be back in a few minutes." With that said he turned and walked through the large double doors in front of the house." Jackson, follow him and make sure he doesnt get himself hurt. He isnt on the right mind track right now." Max ordered standing up. Jackson nodded." As for everyone, get ready for if anything goes bad, we need to be prepared." He didnt wait for a reply from anyone as he softly helped me stand and lead me upstairs.

"What's going on."

"Its to much to explain right now." He replied as we walked down the halls.

"Can you Max? If it's something important I want to know."

He stopped and turned his head toward me." You really want to know?" I nodded and he sighed." Alden isnt human, well he is and he isnt, he was created by me using a machine sixteen years ago. He was supposed to be calm and always collected but something went absolutely wrong, plans changed and now he is how he is now and there isnt a way to change it. But you can Katie. Your Alden's mate in other terms lover. You have the power to keep him and his beast calm and in check." My eyes widden and Max turns so were face to face. My light blue eyes staring into his deep brown." To make this short we are werewolves."

The air is knocked out of my lungs as the word becomes engraved into my mind. Their werewolves, like the ones in the stories? But they look nothing like those monsters.....and Alden's one too.

Even though I am sure any girl would be scared to learn this but I felt that no matter what Alden...He protects me.
