Blue Beetle Chapter 5

"It's all my fault!"

I looked up at Starfire as she looked at me in worry and confusion.

"How?"

"Slade... I flew down the elevator to find Slade carrying Damian and Terra away... I shot my arm cannon at him... But I missed and he... he... he threw something at me... I didn't see what but I fell..." I cringed me teeth, "If I hadn't missed, Slade wouldn't have Damian, which is what he originally wanted!"

"Come on. We'll find him." Starfire flew up the elevator. I stood up and followed her.

(Just to make it clear, and this is only for Blue Beetle, words in italic mean the scarab is speaking to Jaime)

Just shoot her. She's in the way. If you get rid of her, you can search the world, eventually find Slade and kill him. Why would I kill her when she can and will help me. Honestly, I think you should just shoot them all. It would make world domination much quicker. WE ARE NOT GOING TO DOMINATE THE WORLD! I think we should. We have the power to do so. Shut up.

Starfire started helping Gar and Raven. I sat on the couch and brought the Internet on my arm-computer. I looked up multiple Internet trackers. All of them cost money and asked to create a log-in. I wasn't going to deal with that.

"What are we going to do? Two of our team members are unconscious and another one of them is gone!"

"He's not gone-"

"What is he then?" I realized I was over-reacting, "sorry." Starfire didn't smile, but she nodded.

"We aren't going to be able to get anywhere by standing here. Stay here and watch the rest of the team," Starfire told me.

"Wait, what are you going to do?" I asked her.

"Find Damian. Hopefully," she told me. She headed out of the broken window.

"What do I do now..." I looked around the room. There was nothing that would help me find Robin...

Downstairs. What? Go down the elevator. There you will find your clue.

I flew to the bottom of the elevator.

(Note to readers, yeah, it's Speedy again. I say up and down the elevator a lot. At the end of chapter 2, I didn't mention this, but the rock that Terra through at Garfield and Jaime broke the elevator. That's why the team keeps flying up and down the elevator shaft.)

I looked around through the rubbage of the elevator. There was a shiny yellow gadget. It was Damian's! I grabbed it and messed with it for a minute. It was his tracker. The thing was, did he put one on himself- Yes! He did! Incase a situation like this happened! Of course!

Can't believe I'm saying this, but thanks scarab. Anything to get Slade. Not saying I like Slade, but do you have some sort of beef with him? He infiltrated Reach a long time ago. I see. I was one of the few scarabs that survived the explosion.. That's when Ted Kord found me... the Blue Beetle of his time. Ted fixed me up. I tried to attach to him, but he said he didn't want anything like that to happen to him. I agreed as long as I could help him on missions. Which I did. But... Ted died in an explosion at his lab. It ended in me nearly dying, but that's when you found me. I attached to your spine overnight, and then the events that follow bring us here. So I guess Ted Kord was a great guy. Yeah. So you hate Slade because he nearly destroyed the original Reach. That's also why I'm rebelling against Reach, because the new Reach isn't the same as the original Reach. Thanks for the backstory. Let's go find Robin-wait. I'm supposed to stay with the team. Forget the rules. Just go.

I looked ahead. The team was important, but they are also safe. Damian on the other hand is not.

Scarab, give me my jet-pack. The fast one. It takes a lot of power... Just do it. Suit yourself.

At that moment, I shot off into the sky.
