Chapter 5: The Great Escape

Brittany was crying herself asleep again, just like she did every night. William was looking at her with sad eyes. Brittany cried longer than she usually did. William came to her bed, and started to sing a lullaby called "Chester See"

Brittany fell asleep rather fast when William sang the lullaby. She woke up the next morning to see William's head laying at her feet. William woke up shortly after Brittany woke up. He quickly jumped off the bed, and ran out the door. He came back with Brittany's usual meal. He untied her, and she ate the meal. After she was done he didn't tie her back up. William told the other boy to leave the room. The boy hesitated for a moment, but then obeyed. He walked out of the room with a suspicious look on his face. When he was out of the room, William began to take Brittany's hand. He pulled her off of the bed. Brittany collapsed to the floor, because she hadn't stood up for a whole weak. William pulled her to a back door, and opened the door. He looked out of the door to see if anyone was out there. When he saw there was no one outside, he took Brittany to a tree. When they were outside, Brittany noticed that they had taken her deep into Willow forest. They ran for about twenty minutes, but then Brittany collapsed to the ground exhausted. "I have to rest now, because I am so exhausted," Brittany panted. "We shall rest for the rest of the day," William told Brittany. 

William got some wood, and made a fire. He cooked some of the food he had brought with them when they had ran away. Brittany fell asleep before William did. While she slept William was thinking about where they were going to go, and how they were going to escape Mr. Johnson. William soon became exhausted, and fell asleep. Brittany was awakened in the middle of the night by a scream that filled the air. William was still asleep, and she thought that he was fast asleep. Brittany got up from the ground, and followed the direction that the scream had come from. It had sounded that it was a girl that had screamed. The scream came again, and again getting louder and closer the farther Brittany ran. Brittany came to a mossy part of the forest where there was moss hanging from the trees. It looked like a place a monster would live, and she was right to think that. For when she went past a tree there laying on the ground under her was a young girl. The girl was bleeding and was still. Brittany bent down and turned the girl around. The girl wasn't dead, but very wounded. 

Brittany took the girl back to the camp. By the time she got back William was awake, and looking for her. "Brittany, Brittany, where are you?" William was calling. "I am here and I need your help!!" yelled Brittany. William turned around and saw the injured girl leaning against Brittany's shoulder. "Lay her down on the ground quickly!!" William said fearfully. Brittany set the girl on the ground, and William put his hand on her head. The girl started to breath normally, but she did not wake up. "She will be alright," William said with a relieved sigh. "How did you do that?" Brittany asked. "When Mr. Johnson turned me into that creature, some of his magic powers came into my body, and now I have some powers." "Do you know what happened to this girl?" Brittany asked. "I do," said William. "What happened to her?" "She was attacked by Mr. Johnson's master," replied William. "Who is Mr. Johnson's master?" asked Brittany. "He is the creature that wonders this forest." "He is the monster that lurks within Willow Forest," replied William.
