Rescue and Confusion

Jacks P.O.V.

I watched as Ava slowly fell asleep. I couldn't really see, but I just assumed she was falling asleep.

"Ava?" I whispered.

She didn't answer. She probably fell asleep. As I held her, I started to feel this weird over turning in my stomach that I couldn't make out. Probably because I was hungry.

I looked at Ava again. Then, a small little light from the light above us went on.

She looked so cute and peaceful fast asleep.

I think I like this girl.

I pulled her closer to me listened to the sound of her breathing.

I smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Yup, I definitely like this girl.

I heard the lift ding and the lift doors opened. I shook Ava to wake up.

"Ava, the lift opened." I whispered.

"Mm, five more minutes." She mumbled.

I just chuckled and carried her to her room. I think it was 256. I walked down the hall and looked at the numbers looking for hers. Luckily, nobody was in the hallway.

I turned the knob and it was locked.

Great, I forgot that I need her key. I look at Ava and see that her key is in her pocket. I balance her on my knee whilst grabbing the key.

I unlock the door and went in. I laid her on the bed and tucked her in. She shuffled a little bit than she went back to sleep.

I didn't want to watch her, so I was about to leave. Then, I heard Ava moan. I turned and see her sat up in bed. I guess she's awake.

"Jack? Jack! What are you doing here? What am I doing here?" She rambled, panicked.

"Relax, the door opened and I carried you to your room. No biggy." I said, sitting in her office chair.

"How did you open the door?" She asked.

"I used your key, duh." I said.

"What!? How did you-? Never mind. I don't want to know." She said.

We kind of just sat in silence for a little bit. I felt like I should have left, but I don't want to leave.

"Well, I'm gonna go back to sleep because I am exhausted. You can leave whenever." She said.

"Ok." I said.

"Oh, and, Jack?" She asked.

"Ya?" I said.

"Thanks for keeping me warm in the lift." She said, smiling.

"It's nothing." I said.

She smiled at me and then turned over to go to sleep. I was smiling like an idiot. Luckily, she couldn't see. One day, I hope I'll be able to call her mine.

As I watched her fall asleep, I got up and left, not wanting to disturb her. I went out, shutting the door quietly.

I walked through the hall, recalling the events from earlier. I smiled, remembering her into arms. Keeping her warm.

'Jack? What are you doing? She's Finns! You can't date her?' I told myself.

I turned to the wall and hit my fist against it.

'Why does she have to be Finn's? Why can't she mine?' I asked myself.

I finally calmed down and went to my room. I sat in my bed and laid down, looking at the ceiling.

"I'll just have to deal with it. I can't do anything about it. She loves Finn. There's no changing that. Plus, she probably doesn't feel the same way anyway." I said, rolling over.

I closed my eyes and went to sleep. Dreaming of the day Ava will be with me.
