The Other Tudor Girl ((Slowly Updating))

Chapter 2

Today Catherine and Mary will be leaving for England, the French queen was visiting the King and it would be more convenient since everyone could be in one place at the same time.

Catherine was dressed in a black and white dress with a black French hood with tiny pearls. Catherine and her mother were finishing packing her trunks with about 10 dresses, 5 pairs of shoes, 2 coats, a jewelry box, books, personal items, and a spare corset.

Then there was a sound of hooves in the stone path that leads to the big cottage.

"Its time Kate. There is not much to do but it will be fun. All you have to do is keep the queen company and live a court life. For court all you have to do is dress your best and socialize." Mary gives Catherine small lecture about the new life she will see.

When the trunks are loaded they set off, it was not going to be a long ride. The main castle of Henry VIII was only about 3 hours away from their house.

The carriage comes to a stop and then the door opens, Catherine steps out. She has never been to the kings castle. It was magnificent. There were bushes and trees decorating the gardens that were right in front of the castle. Several servants come and take the trunks from the carriage.

"You get to spend a week here Kate! How exciting is that? The king has balls and parties every week, and you'll get to meet him!" Mary says excitedly, "I am jealous."

Then another servant comes out of the castle and walks over to Mary and Catherine. She bows.

The servant says, "If you follow me I will introduce you to Queen Anastasia and King Henry. There is also a ball tonight at 8."

Then they start walking inside the castle.

After a few turns now and then, they enter a room where there are two thrones on a podium, on the one on the left sits Queen Anastasia dressed in a dark red velvet dress and a matching hat, on her neck there are many pearl necklaces that practically drown her.

The king sits next to her on the right throne, he is dressed in puffy coats. He is talking to the queen.

Catherine and Mary walk and stand in front of them and the servant announces, "I present lady Catherine who shall serve the queen and court and her mother lady Mary Howard."

The king turns around and looks at Mary with a warm face, "Its nice to see you again lady Mary, it has been a while." He says.

Mary nods and says, "It is a pleasure my lord."

King Henry then turns to face Catherine, "Why do you remind me of the former queen Anne Boleyn?"

Catherine looks confused, "I don't know my lord. All I know is that I am a Boleyn and that she was somehow related to me."

The king continues and looks st Mary, "She is your daughter? I haven't ever heard of her, she could even pass for being Anne Boleyn's daughter, they look to much alike."

Mary looks at him with a worried face, "May I speak with you my lord? Alone please."
