The Other Tudor Girl ((Slowly Updating))

Chapter 8

     After a moment of hugging my sister Elizabeth we start to talk about ourselves.

"I enjoy reading." Says Elizabeth.

"Reading is calming." I say. "I also enjoy riding and archery."

Elizabeth asks, "Would you like to know anything about Mary?"

"Of course I would, anything you have to say."

She begins, "Mary is quiet but also likes to have her way. She is nice but could be strict at times." She takes a moment to think. "I know she enjoys the company of her two greyhounds and likes falconry."

"I think that gives me a good idea of her. I appreciate that Lizzy." I say.

"Lizzy?"

"Its a nickname, is it okay if I call you Lizzy?"

She smiles, "Of course, and I'll call you Kate."

I hear the steps of someone coming and I look at who it is. It is a servant.

He says, "Lady Mary is here and waits in the throne room with the King."

"Thank you." I say and stand up with Lizzy.

     We walk with our skirts dragging behind us. A servant opens the door to the throne room.

There is a figure with its back turned wearing a deep red old style dress and a matching red French hood.

The figure turns around, I see that this is Mary. She wears a tired expression. And on the throne I'm front of her was the king, who wore a bored and annoyed expression.

I look at Elizabeth and she shrugs her shoulders.

Then we walk forward.

When we get closer to Mary I say, "Hello Mary." And then I curtsey to father.

Elizabeth does the same.

Mary starts, "It is a pleasure to meet my younger sister."

I couldn't tell if she truly means that, her expression is calm and her voice is dull which makes it hard to tell in what emotion she was talking in.

I smiled, "The pleasure is all mine."

I look at Elizabeth who is standing quietly with her hands together and smiling.

I then look st the king, he holds a small smirk on his face. I slightly roll my eyes.

Mary was not going to be my most favorite person in the world. I know there might be some struggle with her being here, but she still is my sister.

I know I'll make it.

But the question is, am I making a big deal our if this?

I lived!!!!
