Jill offered to give me a ride to the party and to drive me home whenever I'd like. I quickly took her up on that and now, we're both at the party. So far, it looks like I'm the designated driver tonight because Jill is slightly buzzed, but I don't mind. She's been really nice to me since this morning and she's done a lot for me so far.
I'm standing in the corner of a coworker's house and keeping a close eye on Jill to ensure her safety. Two guys are dancing with her, but before you get an idea that a threesome is about to occur, you should know that the two guys are gay. I know this because between each song, they hardcore kiss. I tried to be with a girl before but it wasn't for me. I tried very hard to make myself like her sexually and mentally and everything in between but it wasn't for me. I wish I could've made it work because she said she loved me, but I couldn't. I didn't feel that for her. I wish I was bisexual so that it could've worked for her and I wouldn't have hurt her the way I did.
"Scara! How've are you?" a familiar voice slurs. I turn my head and see a drunken Tré Cool. "Tré, I think you should put that drink down," I say. "Quitters mever wins," he insists. We have a conversation that makes absolutely no sense, and thank the lord! I see Mike Dirnt across the way without a drink in his hand! Hopefully, not having a drink in your hand means you're sober, and can actually have a conversation.
I grab Tré's arm and guide him over to Mike, who smirks when he sees me dragging Tré across the room. "I think this is yours," I say, lightly pushing Tré over to Mike. "Mi-i-ikey!" Tré yells to him. "You're on babysitting duty too, huh?" Mike asks. I sigh and then nod. "Okay, well, just FYI, Jill is about to walk out the door," he shrugs. He is correct. Not even thinking, I quickly walk over to Jill and redirect her to Alex so the two drunk people can dance together. Once that's done, I walk back over to Mike. "It's fun being the sober one, am I right?!" he laughs. "Totally. 100% the best thing ever," I joke sarcastically.
"Can you do me a favor really quick?" he asks.
"Depends on the favor."
"Can you watch Tré for like two minutes while I go to the bathroom?"
"I guess so. But after two minutes, he's not my problem."
"Got it."
He goes down the hall, and I spot Jill dancing away. Okay. She's good. Now my only responsibility is Tré...F*CK! Where's Tré?! I look around the room and don't see him. I push through different crowds of people and soon find myself looking inside different bedrooms. I really hope there's no one having sex in here. I'm not down to see that and I swear on my mother's grave that I will scream if I see a penis with a piercing. To my luck, the rooms are empty, but Tré isn't in any of them. As I continue the search, I bump into a familiar body. "Cara! WHAZZZUP?!" Billie practically shouts. Other people at the party quiet down, but quickly builds back up to the high volume again. "Let me guess, Mike is your sober friend that's watching you tonight?" I sigh. "Yerpers! How'd you know? You'res a witch! But I wouldn't mind hasing you as my sober friends," Billie Joe smiles with bloodshot eyes.
Great. He's high too. Could this get any worse? I ask myself. Then, I hear him. "I'm getting some b*tches tonight!" Tré screams throughout the house. "C'mon, Billie. We're getting Tré," I grab Billie Joe's wrist. "Nu! I'm having so muchs funs," he disagrees and attempts to pull away. Because of my determination to NOT get fired, I force Billie Joe to follow me. Eventually I find Tré dancing with some girls in tiny leopard and zebra print dresses. "Hey, Tré! Guess what I have?" I get Tré's attention. "Billie! I has found you!" he says before kissing a quick kisses on Billies' cheeks. "Both of you, come on. Mike is going to wonder where you are," I persuade them. "Yay! We're gon' see Mike!" they both say together.
Once I get back to where I started, Mike is waiting for my return with a surprised expression. I hand Tré's and Billie's wrists to Mike and watch as they hug Mike tightly. "Wow. You actually kept an eye on them," he states. "Yep. That's me! The one who always has to have the responsibility," I joke. "Do you wanna break from all of this?" he suddenly asks. "What does that mean?" I reply unsurely. "It means that you go have fun and I'll watch Billie, Jill, and Tré. Don't take this the wrong way, but you look like you need it," he smiles. "Thank you," I say before going to dance with Jill.
Surprisingly, I'm actually having a good time. Usually, I'd be at home having an existential crisis as I lay on the floor and cry, but this is a lot better. My phone rings, so I go outside to answer it. "Hello?" I ask.
"Hey...don't find this weird! You're number was in the phone book so this is perfectly legal," a familiar voice speaks.
"I'm sorry, who is this?"
"Oh, it's Adrienne. I just needed to tell you thank you for helping me earlier today."
"Of course, no problem!"
"And um, I actually have a small favor and you don't have to do it if you don't want to."
"What is it?"
"Are you with Billie Joe?"
"Uh, sorta. We're at the same party right now, but we aren't together."
"Well, do you think you could maybe tell him that I'm breaking up with him?"
"Uh...what?"
"I'm not happy anymore...well, I mean, I just don't love him as much as I used to, and he still loves me. I don't want to keep him from being with someone who will treat him right and love him back.... I know it's a lot to ask. Like I said, you don't have to agree. I'm just afraid to see him get his heart broken. Also, sorry if I sound really conceded right now."
I think for a moment and say, "Yeah. I guess I can do that for you, but you owe me."
"Oh my god! Thank you!" she says in tears.
"No problem," and with that, I hang up the phone.
What the hell did I just get myself into?!
