"Hey Alice?" Someone called from behind me.

"Yeah?"

"Your phone's buzzing."

"Right, thanks." I was so concentrated on observing the sample of tissue I had in my microscope that I hadn't noticed the damn thing.

"Hello?" I groaned.

"Hello dear! How's school going?" My mum's voice thrilled nearly deafening me. I was far too young to end up like Ernie.

"I go to uni, mother, not school. Everything's fine, thank you."

"Of course, honey, that's great! You do remember we're having our annual ball on Saturday, right?" She inquired.

Shit, fuck, bugger: absolutely forgot.

"Yes, mother, I do remember." I lied. "If you'll excuse me now, I have a biopsy to analyse."

"Oh, dear! Very well! You doctors are always so busy... I will see you on Saturday." She hung up.

I groaned once again letting my head fall on the table with a loud thump. God only knew how much I hated the annual family ball. It was all about listening to people parading their wealth. I despised it.

I sighed and started staring in my microscope once again, but as soon as my eyes made contact with the thing my phone started buzzing again. I wondered if I was becoming a call centre.

"What?!" I answered angrily.

The sample of colon tissue wasn't going to be analysed any time soon.

"Joe's pizza! I have an order for two double cheese large ones!" A shrilly voice called.

" I thought I ordered pepperoni." I answered a little annoyed.

I absolutely needed to change this stupid code, people around me were starting to think I was some sort of pizza maniac.

"Hello agent 101."

"Mr Biggs"

"I have a mission for you. You will find everything you need inside gym locker number 21. This job needs to be done discreetly and quickly, do you understand?"

"Yes, sir."

"Your key is in your bag." He hung up on me, which was an apparently fashionable thing to do today.

Though after all those years I still didn't get how he managed to slip stuff in my bag without me noticing.

I sighed, reluctantly pushing the microscope away and picking up my bag to leave the lab.

Sometimes it was difficult for me to lead a double life. I really liked both my jobs, but at times being both a medicine student and a spy was complicated. Yeah, a spy, you heard that right. I've been working for the SIS or MI6 since I turned eighteen, exactly for four years now. My dad was an agent for nearly twenty years, so it was just natural for me and my brother to follow his steps too.

My family owned a big pharmaceutical company, hence my love for medicine. Though I preferred the clinical part, like actually helping and curing people. Ironic, huh? Killing them and curing them at the same time. My brother said it was an attempt of my subconscious of cleaning up my conscience. But whatever.

Thanks to my second job, though, no one ever bothered me when I had to leave uni. Not that they knew, obviously, probably Mr Biggs had a chat with the chancellor.

The gym locker room reeked of sweat and was uncomfortably warm and humid. No wonder I preferred the agency's, but, alas, this one was a hell of a lot closer.

Finally locker 21 appeared before me and I clicked the lock open with my key, then locked it back again as soon as I took a black duffle bag out.

"Hello doctor"

A tall muscled guy was standing before me when I lifted my eyes. Shit, he was really quite stunning. I'd never seen a man with long caramel brown hair like his before. His greenish bluish eyes were studying me with interest as if he was expecting me to say something.

"So, are you or are you not?" He asked smiling.

"Pardon?" I asked a little confused.

"A doctor." He laughed.

"Oh, right." I realised I was still wearing my white coat. "Soon, not yet though." I smiled back at him.

We stared at each other for a little while in silence.

"I'm sorry, but do I know you or something?" I said unable to resist.

"No, but some of my trainees have had the unfortunate pleasure of making you acquaintance." He answered laughing.

"Right, I'm sorry." Was I blushing? Why the hell was I blushing! "I just hate it when they hit on a younger boy, especially if it's five against one."

"Yeah, I already made them apologise for that, plus now they're going to have to clean the whole gym for a month." He laughed stroking his short beard.

Damn, he was sexy.

"That sounds disgustingly horrible." I retuned his smile.

"I'm glad you approve." He winked, still smiling. "I'm Damon, by the way. I run the gym."

I grabbed his hand and shook it, his strong grip surprised me.

"Alice." I smiled. "Has Harry retired?" I enquired about the man who had the job before him.

He shrugged, not knowing the answer.

"Are you coming to train? I would love to see you in action." He smirked.

Was he flirting with me? I felt heat spread across my whole body.

"No, I was just leaving. I have a night shift and forgot my bag." I lied and smiled.

"Some other time then." He smiled.

"Yes, some other time."
