Valentine's Day was coming up in a couple of weeks. Nobody ever got me anything and completely ignored me.
I saw couples walk down the hallway, and I wished it was me and Jake walking those halls. It made me jealous.
Word got out that Jake broke up with his girl, because he liked someone else. Great. Another person for me to hate. He wouldn't tell anybody though.
Rocky and Dayla had calmed down, although they didn't even dare look at each other. They chose to ignore each other. As soon as Jake and his girlfriend broke up, she started dating Rocky, which was kind of strange. Apparently she was cheating on him with Rocky, and she wasn't sick on Halloween night, she went to Rocky's house. I'm guessing Jake found out, but I really wanted to know who he liked.
One day, as I was getting my crap from my locker, I found a note. I picked it up, and it said, "I like you, but you have to figure out who I am, it's a challenge. XOXO! Sincerely, Secret Admirer." So apparently I had a secret admirer. It was probably one of the dorky boys, or some weirdo, but I kept it in mind. It could've been a prank too.
Cheerleading tryouts for next year were coming up too, and during that time, that's all everyone is talking about. Boys talking about how they want the girls, cheerleaders talking about how excited they are and being snobs, and girls that aren't cheerleaders talking about how they hate cheerleaders. Well, they're talking about that and Valentine's Day.
I hate the cheerleaders, they think they're so above everyone and bully them. Including me.
Valentine's Day came, and all the couples were making me sick, being all mushy gushy in front of everyone. Usually on that day, a bunch of single people stick together and talk crap about the couples, even if they've never ever talked before. Including me. This year, Jake would be joining us too.
It gave me a chance to hang out with him. I tried asking him questions that would crack the case of who he liked. He wouldn't give any answers, and he just blushed instead. I was never going to figure out.
I was also trying to crack the case of who left that note in my locker. I went up to random guys and asked them, but nobody said yes, so I finally gave up and tossed it in the garbage. It was probably a prank anyway.
At lunch, all of us single people sat together. I noticed Jake kind of looking in my direction a lot, probably because Ashley Barker was sitting next to me, and she was a pretty green-eyes blonde, so I added her to the suspect list.
Ashley is a cheerleader, but surprisingly, she is kind of nice. I would understand why Jake would like her, although I hated that thought. Ashley and I had a conversation about something, I have to admit, she is the nicest cheerleader there is.
When I went home, I made a suspect list for Jake's possible crushes. Ashley was the first one on it.
Cheerleading tryouts came a week after that, and you can guess how that went. I hated it so much. I got tripped by the captain of the cheer squad, Tiffany Youssef, like a million times. Jake was always around when that happened, so I added her to the suspect list.
Dear God,
Why do you hate me? I can't have one thing to have happiness. Why is your plan for me such a hard one?
