Charlotte's POV

I jumped in my make shift bed at the sound of a fist pounding on my bedroom door. "Charlotte! Wake the hell up!"

"What do you want Tye?" I rolled over in my sleeping bag, facing the still closed door.

"Can I come in?" Tye stopped knocking and peeked around the edge of my door. His eyes landed upon me, deciding that he could indeed come inside.

"What do you want?" I repeated myself, sitting up.

"The movers are going to be here soon," Tye explained, glancing around my room, "and by the looks of it, you need to pick up a bit before they do."

"Okay. I'll be ready in a few," I waved my hand at Tye, hoping for him to leave.

Tye backed out of my room, closing the door on the way out. I sighed and lifted my blanket off my legs. I rolled out of my sleeping bag, and crawled to my suitcase.

I pulled out my pair of adidas leggings and my maroon and white baseball tee. I walked across the hall to my bathroom, showered and changed into my clothes.

I towel dried my hair, then put it into a nice, neat bun. I pulled a few strands out, towards the front to frame my face.

I took on last look into the mirror, then trekked back to my room. I decided that Tye was right, so I through all of my clothes and shoes back into my suitcase and closed it.

I picked up my make shift bed, seeing as after this, I'm not going to need it anymore. On my way to the kitchen, I rolled my suitcase into the bathroom and put my bed on the toilet seat.

I pushed open the door to the kitchen, opening it to find Tye sitting on the counter eating an apple.

"When are they going to be here?" I look in the cupboards for a bowl and cereal.

"Soon. I think around eight thirty," I checked the clock on the microwave showing that the time was 8:10.

"Okay," after I poured the the cereal, I grabbed the milk from the fridge and a spoon from the drawer.

"Have you talked to Elle or mom recently?" I looked up from my cereal to meet Tye's gaze.

"No, why?" I put my spoon down, giving Tye my full attention.

"Apparently, Elle wants to get another dog, but we all know the Kane would hate that," Tye explained.

"So...where does mom come in the mix?" I backtracked to when he asked if I'd talked to Elle or mom.

"She was the one to tell Elle no," Tye gave me a knowingly look, and I returned it. Elle isn't a drama queen, and she definitely isn't a spoiled brat, but she does get a bit upset if you were to be the one to tell her 'no'.

"How did she take it?" I asked Tye.

"Of course she threw a small tantrum, but she left home."

"What do you mean, "left home""? I tried to regain Tye's gaze, but he avoided looking back at me.

"She took a four wheeler and a duffel. She's gone," Tye finally caught my eyes.

"Seriously?"

"As serious as a heart attack."

"How long?"

"About eighteen hours. They think she took 30, 34 to Egan, South Dakota."

"Are they waiting for the twenty four hour mark?"

"By law, yes. By our father's rules, no."

"So the whole town's already searching for her?"

"Pretty much."
