The cure

Elena's POV

Before Klaus can start to explain, Damon, Stefan, and Bonnie pull up right next to me and Klaus in Damon's car. They all get out and Damon looks outraged and worried at the same time.

"Dammit Elena you could've called and told me you were okay"

Damon says grabbing my arm and looking over me over for any battle scars.

"I'm fine Damon"

I say jerking my arm away from him. He snaps his head towards Klaus as if he just saw him.

"What are you doing here?"

He asks in mean voice, and I suddenly become defensive. I but in before Klaus can answer.

"He saved me from Katherine."

I protest, gesturing towards Katherine's dead body. Stefan immediately runs over to her and listens for a heart beat.

"She's dead"

He says

"No shit."

Damon replies without a care in the world.

"She thought I had something she kept asking me where 'it' is. What's it? What was she looking for?"

I ask crossing my arms and looking around at all of them. Damon, Bonnie, Stefan and I chatted for a few minutes about what 'it' could be, whenever Klaus buts in.

"The cure. She's looking for the cure."

He says in a worried tone.

"Wait a cure for what?"

I ask.

"Vampirism"

He replies and a wave of emotions rush over me.

"There's not a cure for vampirism. It's impossible"

Bonnie argues crossing her arms.

"The witch is right. Not once in my 100 and some odd years on this earth have I ever heard of a cure."

Damon says.

"Oh there's a cure. Very few people know about it and it's impossible to get, but there is a cure."

Klaus protests.

"What would Katherine want with the cure? She loved being a vampire. She would never want to be human"

Stefan says.

"Well my guess is she wanted to get it and shove it down my throat so that she could kill me and be rid of me."

Klaus replies smirking.

"If there's a cure. Think of how many people would want to use it on you."

I say worriedly looking at Damon. And a worried look appears on his face.

"All the people you've killed. People are going to want revenge"

I say grabbing his arm.

"Yeah but Klaus said that very few people know about it."

He says looking at Klaus for back up.

"Yes but Katherine knew and it's only a matter of time....until every vampire knows."

I say.

"Elena's right we've got to find it"

Stefan agrees.

"Klaus you've got to help us."

I say turning towards him. And a smirk forms on his face.

"And why is that?"

He asks leaning against Damon's car.

"Because it's just a matter of time before someone else tries to use it on you, and the last thing the most powerful vampire wants is to be human"

I say walking close to him and crossing my arms.

"Ugh fine. We start tomorrow"
