Laura
"We're here!" Betty squealed. What a child! Laura giggled softly. When the car door opened, the club had a long line of people excitedly waiting to come into the music-filled sanctuary. The closer her and Betty walked to the door, the more confused Laura became. Aren't we going to wait in line? She thought as Betty walked closer to the bouncer, who was standing menacingly, giving the people with bad intentions a certain message.
"Uh.. Betty, we're supposed to be in line?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. Betty raised a hand to the bouncer that she was talking to, as she turned to Laura with a smirk.
"Laura, sweetie, do you know how terrible of a host I'd be if I just allowed us to wait hours just to celebrate such an important occasion?" Betty scoffed as she turns back to the bouncer, stating her identity to him. The muscled man nodded his head as he moved over to allow Laura and Betty in. The bass of the music makes Laura's heart pound to the beat, soon enough, Laura discovered that she was nodding her head to the music.
Betty grabs Laura's hand to lead Laura to a booth. "I'll treat you. Knowing you, you'll probably just ask me to order you some water," Betty assumed with a roll of her eyes, "...but lucky for you, I'm practically an alcoholic! So just sit back, relax, and enjoy the moment." She said as she gave me a thumbs up while walking away. Man, I'm kind of terrified of what Betty'll order for me. Laura jokingly thought.
Eyes following Betty, Laura saw a stunning woman behind the bar counter. The attention-capturing woman had glossy, black curled hair. She wore a leather vest over a black shirt that hugged her curves perfectly. The woman was serving drinks professionally and rapidly without effort. Ugh, and that smile! Laura stared with her jaw open. Realizing that she could be seen gawking at a woman, Laura immediately closed her mouth and looked away blushing. Holy shit, now I kind of wished that I went with Betty to get the drinks. Laura thought, sighing.
Betty came back with two glasses, and one of them wasn't water. Instead, it was a yellow-red colored cocktail. The other glass was a green colored drink. A margarita, I'm guessing. Giving me the yellow-red drink, we both awkwardly drank in silence.
"So... that bartender's pretty hot, huh?" Betty suddenly spoke up, causing Laura to choke on her drink.
"Jesus, Betty!" Laura exclaimed, "...yeah, she was."
"Yeah, girl, you should talk to her." Betty suggested.
"That girl is, like, majorly out of my league, Betty." Laura said.
"No shit." Betty laughed.
"Hey!" Laura cried, jokingly sounding offended, as she put a hand on her chest.
"Talk to her. You never know, maybe you'll get laid." Betty said as she wiggled her eyebrows.
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"...Okay." Laura decided. I'm gonna talk to her. Just a little talk. No biggie.... Laura said, standing up and fixing her dress.
"Yay, Laura!" Betty cheered. "Go get some!"
Laura face-palmed. Betty, you're too loud! She looked around, and saw strangers looking at Betty as if she was crazy. Then to the bartender, who was staring at Laura with such intensity that it could make her melt. Oh, if looks could kill....
Each step she took matched with the beat, her heartbeat quickly rising as she drew nearer to the lady that has captured Laura's attention so greatly. Finally, she was there right in front of her. Be smooth, lady killer.
Laura introduced herself with the sweetest smile she could muster. "Hey, I'm Laura."
