Laura
The Uber driver dropped the two off and recieved payment then soon left, leaving them infront of the doorstep of their dorms. Hopefully there wouldn't be cameras all over. After living a long time with her father, she's just so done being watched over.
Unfortunately, Betty was being loud as hell, and she giggled and muttered and honestly, Laura started to think if she should just ditch her and run off to her dorms already. However, being the honorable woman she is, Laura decides to be a good friend and stick around to help.
"It's your fault for deciding to go celebrate at the club." Laura couldn't decided if she was scolding herself or her roommate.
"Laur-a, you're such a nerd, it's adorable!" Betty giggled as she pinched Laura's cheeks.
Her roommate. Definitely.
"Ah, haha, you drank too much, Betty. Just shush and focus on walking." Laura instructed, still struggling to maintain her own balance despite not being drunk.
"God, why are you such a gwumpy-gwump?" Betty pouted.
"You're not so cute." Laura snorted.
They weren't far off, now. Just a couple more rooms to pass by and turn left down the hall. But it would really help if Betty could just walk properly. Laura's thoughts started to drift to Carmilla. What was her last name? Laura thought to herself. I mean, would it be creepy if I asked her what her last name was? It's not like she's obliged to tell me, but it wouldn't hurt if she could. She was pretty hot, and–
"Oh, hey there, frosh!"
Laura's head snapped up. At the end of the hallway stood a redheaded figure that had safety goggles on. Their face had soot on their cheeks, and their hair was ruffled.
"Hey..." Laura started awkwardly, trying to keep Betty to stand as properly as possible to avoid further attention.
"Yikes. Need help?" They offered. Laura was about to politely decline, but honestly, she was exhausted so she ended up giving in instead.
"Oh, please." She accepted, giving and awkward half smile. They came over and had Betty's arm wrap around the shorter scientist. It was awkward for both Laura and the other, since Betty was so damn tall. "I'm sorry we're bothering you."
"No, it's alright! Zeta Omega Mu is always getting partying so I'm just kinda used to the noise. I'm LaFontaine. You can just call me LaF, if you'd like." LaFontaine introduced herself.
"Oh, pretty glasses ya got there!" Betty slurred.
"Laura Hollis. I'd shake your hand but both of our hands are full at the moment so..." Laura trailed off. She's sure LaFonatine got the message. With LaFontaine's help, the three was able to get to the room faster.
"Thanks for the help, LaF!" Laura finally offered a handshake once Betty was put on her bed. Before the blonde's head hit the pillow Laura swore Betty already started snoring. "We're sorry again, for all the commotion."
"Nah, it's all good. As a scientist, I can tell your roommate Betty over there didn't really have control over herself," LaFontaine winked goofily and gave two thumbs up jokingly, making Laura chuckle at LaFontaine's humor.
"LaF!" Another voice called, "Honey, where'd you go?"
"That would be my friend Perry. She's a huge worrywart, but trust me, she means well." LaFontaine explained, "and her baking skills are killer good."
"Lucky." Laura raised an eyebrow enviously.
"Well, gotta go before she starts stress cleaning our room. Something might explode if she touches that one flask I had stored in my room..." Realizing they were speaking too much, they walked off in the direction of the voice.
"LaF!"
"Coming! Perry, don't be so loud, it's late!"
"What, you're yelling too!"
"Sh!"
Laura chuckled and went inside her dorm room.
"She was definitely cool." She said to herself, unknowing of the non-binary's pronoun preference. Deciding to hit the hay, Laura changed into pajamas before finally letting herself be confined into the comforts of her bed. Her thoughts went from her grades, to her father, and to how her future is gonna be like. Without even realizing it, her final thoughts was of the beautiful bartender in the club.
Carmilla.
