Maisie is Emma and James Barton's sixteen year old daughter. Growing up with three older brothers wasn't easy for Maisie, but at least she didn't have to worry about any boys breaking her heart, because if they did, they would never see daylight aga...
I woke up on Saturday morning to the sound of my mother's voice.
"Maisie, you need to get up, darling. You don't want to be late, do you?" She said from the other side of my door.
"OK, I'm up." I mumbled sleepily, sitting up in my warm, cosy bed. I swung my legs out of bed and went into the bathroom. I stripped myself of my pyjamas and jumped into the shower once the water was hot enough. I washed my long brown hair with my banana scented shampoo & conditioner, before washing my body with my apple and mango scented bodywash. Once I was done in the shower, I wrapped a towel around my body and made my way back into my bedroom, where I tried to find something to wear. I finally decided on a white barcode tank top tucked into a pair of black skinny jeans, along with a dark pink/red blazer and a pair of black lace-up boots. I quickly did my makeup, not too heavily but not too light either, and did my hair in a half-up-half-down braid going around my head. Lastly, I slipped on my silver dreamcatcher necklace and my brown braided bracelets, before I was ready.

Once I was dressed, I made my way downstairs and into the living room, where Mum, Dad and two of my older brothers were. I'm guessing Pete had left for work or something. I don't really care; me and Pete don't really get alone that well.
"Want some porridge, darling?" Mum asked me.
"No thanks, I'll just have some fruit." I said, grabbing a banana from the fruit bowl. I quickly ate it, before grabbing my baby blue handbag and hoisted in onto my shoulder, letting out a breath.
"You'll be fine, Mai." Finn told me, sensing I was nervous.
"Yeah, what are you so worried about, anyway? It's not like you don't know them." Ross said.
"Because it's my first proper job, maybe?" I snapped. I was going for a job interview at the Sharma & Sharma factory.
"Like Finn said, you'll be fine." Mum said, coming over and straightening my blazer.
"Yeah, you're an intelligent, hard-working girl, why wouldn't they want to hire you?" Dad said.
"I better go, I don't want to be late." I sighed.
"I'll walk you. I need to get to work as well." Ross said, dumping his coffee cup in the sink and putting his shoes on. I said goodbye to Mum, Dad and Finn before leaving with Ross. We soon arrived outside the factory, and I was just staring at it nervously, instead of actually going in.
"Mai," Ross began. I tore my eyes away from the building to look at my brother, "It's gonna be okay. Like Dad said, you smart, you're hard-working, and you're responsible...sometimes. Look, my point is, they'd be stupid not to want you."
"But what if I mess up? Say the wrong thing? You know what I'm like!" I cried. I inherited Finn's awkwardness, so you can imagine why I'm so scared.
"It's just Priya and Jai! It's not like the queen is in there!" Ross said. I finally plucked up the courage and said goodbye to Ross, letting him kiss my forehead as I hugged him, before I reluctantly made my way into the factory. I went through to the office and gently knocked on the door, which Priya answered seconds later.
"Maisie!" Priya smiled, "Come in." She stepped aside to I could walk into the office. "Have a seat. Jai should be here in a minute, then we can begin." She explained, as I sat down, my hands shaking. I don't even know why I'm so nervous, like Ross said, I'm actually quite good friends with Priya.
I sat there, twiddling my thumbs for about ten minutes, until Jai walked in and my heart started beating 100x quicker.
"Okay, let's get started, shall we?" Jai said, as he sat next to Priya, opposite me. Here we go...
