Chapter 10

As we entered the pack house, heads bowed towards us and smile lit the faces of the elders, some were in shock with my appearance while others didn’t bat an eyelash at it. A firm hand clasped around my wrist tugging me along, looking up to Riley I pulled back my arm and walked ahead of him knowing where he wanted me to go.

Reaching upstairs to his room, I opened the door and sat on the neatly made bed as he stood in front of me pacing. The silence that enveloped us was not awkward but rather uncomfortable between us. Suddenly he stopped pacing and squatted down in front of me as he held my hands reluctantly in his.

“Look at me Carter, Look at me.” He begged, his voice sounding defeated, slowly I brought my head up looking into his magical eyes. “I’m so sorry, you don’t understand how sorry I am, I had beat myself up everyday you were gone thinking how stupid I was for doing what I did, but I’m thankful that I have finally found you, because I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I didn’t.

“I know you can’t forgive me and I don’t expect you to let me in again, but let me make it up to you, let me make this right so we can be normal again. Let me help you with whatever is going on. I want us to be together again I want us to be stronger than before.” He cried to me as single tears slid down his cheek. Never in my life have I ever seen a powerful Alpha cry.

“Your right, I’m not going to forgive you so easily, I will make damn sure I make your life hell while you try to make it up to me and lord knows if you will succeed and get my forgiveness.” I spoke sincerely.

Hope lined his features as he looked at me, picking me up from the waist he spun me around smiling like a Chester cat. But while he spun me around my arms stayed by my side not moving or expressing the joy he is now feeling.

“Put. Me. Down.” I said through gritted teeth being as stubborn as I could be. Hastily he put me back on my feet smiling boyishly towards me.

After a few minutes of silence a serious expression took over his features. “What happened that night after you left Carter?” he questioned even though he didn’t mean to his voice had a demanding tone to it.

“What do you mean?” I tired playing dumb trying to avoid this conversation as long as I can.”

“Don’t play dumb with me Carter, I know you shifted that night, but what happened to your eyes, you can hardly see the orbs of it, its like you have no colour to it but the gold surrounding it but the rest is all silver.” He explained, while getting a little angry with me.

“I don’t know what happened Riley, what you expect me to say. I almost died that night; do you know how much pain I was in? No you didn’t. how would you feel if on the night of your birthday that your mate cheated on you and that you shifted into a werewolf, and not only that but not know what was actually happening to you, having no one there to explain it all to you, the you soon find out your eyes make you look like you have no sight, that you can’t even come to terms with what is happening to you!” at the end of my rant I was seething, anger boiling inside of me, by now I knew my eyes had turned to their purple colour from my anger. I had to reel in my emotions so I wouldn’t accidently use my powers to hurt anything or god forbids, Riley.

Guilt was evident in his eyes as he looked at me, my purpose wasn’t for him to feel guilty I just didn’t know what to say especially as my emotions took a toll on me. Feeling exhausted, I took a seat on the bed bringing my legs up to my chest. I decided not to tell Riley about my gift and also about Paul, we not now, until I get everything sorted out and know how to fully control my powers then this would stay a secret between me and Paul.

Riley’s warm hand cupped my cheek, as he kissed my forehead as he mumbled “sorry” a thousand times. “I will make it up to you Carter. I promise my life I will.”

At the end when everything was said and done, Riley had left for a meeting with the elders so I was left alone with my thought. Instead of reminiscing on everything that had gone on I decided to go a see Paul and take another lesson with him and explain to him what had happened.

Barging in without knocking, I found Paul sitting on the sofa watching an odd soap opera.

“So how’s Riley?” he questioned nonchalantly as if we were talking about the time the train would arrive at the station.

“How did you know I was with Riley?” ignoring his other question.

“News travels quickly in this pack, rumour has it that Chris and a few other dogs found you in the clearing having a bath in the rain.” He says quite amused with himself.

“well maybe that rumour is true maybe its not but, yes Riley did find me and we’ve been talking.”

“Please don’t tell me that you’ve forgiven him so easily.”

“Ha-ha, I’m not that kind, course not I’m going to make his life a living hell for a while before I forgive his ass.” I laughed.

“That’s my girl.” Giving me a side hug and a kiss on the forehead, in a fatherly manner, as he actually was a father figure towards me there’s no doubt about that.

After our conversation we had trained for a few more hours, where I had finally learnt how to control water but not entirely, we haven’t attempted to try fire as it is the hardest among the three to control and we don’t want any accidents happening so we decided to learn how to control the other elements properly first then we will try with fire.

I had gotten a dozen of texts from Riley asking me where I am and to also come home, but instead of answering I ignored them all and concentrated on my much needed training.

As night fell I made my way back to the pack house to find a fuming Alpha standing at the porch.

I've finally updated sorry about that. I have been focusing on my new book, Tears of an Alpha and i have choosen to only update the next chapter if i can get 40 votes on both books and if you can leave a comment  so i know how to keep going with both book, hopefully i'll get the votes fast so i can update quicker for you which will motivate me to write guys.
