Chapter 12

Sitting at the counter fully dressed and cleansed, Trudy had baked me brunch which consisted of blueberry caramel waffles and apple juice. Hard footsteps connected with the polished hardwood flooring. The ladies in the kitchen hurried to get food on a plate, wanting to please their Alpha.

“Morning Ladies,” Riley spoke in an unusual cheerful tone. The ladies mumbled their “morning” and “how was you night,” again were replied with a cheerful tone.

I couldn’t think what had him so happy. Deciding not to dwell on it, I continued to eat my breakfast, ignoring him altogether. Warm lips were placed onto my forehead as Riley pecked me.

“Morning” he spoke huskily into my ear, making my heart race a little more.

“Oh Trudy, just to remind you about the pack gathering tonight, a few of the other packs Alpha, Luna’s’ and Beta’s should be coming along too. I have already informed Aaron (Beta) and he has informed everyone else. Extra food should be made just in case and can you please show me tonight’s menu’s all three courses and deserts.

“The backyard is being vacated and designed by my mother, so everything should be done and finished ready for 7 O’clock, when the guest will be arriving. It is formal wear. The children will be taken to bed at 8:30 by a few of the pack mates. The evening will carry on till when everyone leaves at their own time.” He explained to her, having everything planned to the T.

“What’s going on tonight?” I questioned, while having caramel dripping from my lip, well isn’t that nice.

“Tonight is when you will be formally introduced to the pack as our Luna and my mate. So dress well and be ready at 7 O’clock sharp love.” And with that he left the room heading towards god knows where.

I swear my mouth was still slack after a good 5 minutes, only when Trudy spoke was when I closed it. “Darling, I know you love my cooking but I don’t think we need to see how much.” Sassy people, always giving you some sass daily as if it’s a second language to them, despicable.

I sat there fidgeting as Claudia – Riley’s mother- finished curling my. We have been getting ready for 2 hours now, when Claudia had dragged me off to my room 2 hours before tonight’s event to get me ready. I have been banned from looking at the mirror until she has finished with me. I haven’t put on the dress yet but I can see it hanging in a garment cover suit.

To be honest I’m not so nervous about tonight, I guess it’s because I’ve already met most of the people in the pack, but now I’m going to be formally introduced to the pack and some of the neighbouring packs as the new Luna of the Midnight Warrior Pack.

“Finished,” Claudia exclaimed, “Alright now let’s get you into your dress, there’s only 10 minutes left, and most people are already in the backyard.” She spoke nervously.

Zipping the dress out of the garment bag, she quickly told me to strip from my robe as now I stood in my underwear well isn’t this awkward.
