I remember running around with Amelia, our toes in the white sand of the Pacific ocean. This was our annual family summer trip. We would load up the cars and go for a six hour drive to the beach. That probably seems weird since we live by about thirty minutes away from the beach, but we liked to think of this as our vacation, time away from where we live.
By the time we got there Amelia and were already throwing off our shoes and jumping into the cool crisp water. Within five minutes we had made it up to chest high water. Amelia was calling out to me, I could barely make out what she said over the crashing of the waves.
She was yelling at me looking sad "It's not your fault. It's not your faul---"
That's when the beginning of a giant wave started to form, to only come crashing down on top of both of us.
I jolted awake from the memory/nightmare that I had, only to hit my head on something particularly hard that happened to make a noise when my head made contact. That's when I remembered passing out after nearly having a heart attack after finding out someone was in my room.
"Look I'm not here to hurt you, I just need your help."
Okay so it's of the male gender judging from the voice, either that or I would become ten times more scared if it wasn't. Upon thinking this and on top of him talking, I tuned him out and slowly reached for the dolphin candle beside my bed, finally getting a good enough grip on it I swung, hard.
"Oh my, holy sh--, what the hell was that for!" the guy whisper yelled.
With that I hit him again two more times while he eventually wrestled the candle from my hand and threw it to the ground, hmmm sigh rest in piece little dolphin candle.
"Okay, alright calm down there hulk." the guy told me. He got up and turned the light on by the door, as soon as he turned around it took everything in me not to pass out again, he was the same guy from the beach!
"What are you doing here, my parents are right down the hall, all I have to do is yell and they'll come running and then you'll be taken to jail." I said defending myself.
"Well I can assure you that I won't go to jail, because I won't hurt you. I'm here because of your friend Amelia." he said.
"Don't, you have no right to talk about her, you have no right, I don't even know you." I said through tears.
"You're right I don't, my name is Landon. I saw you going into your house early and I needed to not be seen, in a way. So I'm holding onto the hope you won't scream." he said walking closer with his hands up.
This was the first time i saw him fully in the light, he still had his gorgeous body, but looking at his face he had a bloody nose and a gash on his right side. Gasping I ran up to him "Oh my gosh your bleeding."
"I'm fine, I just need to stay the night." Landon protested as I grabbed his arm leading him into my bathroom. That's just terrific, super Amber leading a stranger into your bathroom, my conscience argued with me. Ignoring it, I turned the light on and led Landon to the edged of the tub and sat him down.
"I really am fine, I just need to sleep." he protested.
"You are most certainly not going to be freely bleeding all over my bedroom." I argued back. I examined his nose i decided on the verdict, something Landon probably won't like. I walked over to a cupboard and pulled out something, I walked over to Landon and began unwrapping what I had in my hand. As soon as Landon saw what it was his almost fell out of his head.
"Oh hell no I am not putting that up my nose." he said as he bolted up from the tub.
"Yes you are or you will be leaving." I told him.
"Fine does this mean I can stay here until morning." Landon asked.
I looked around and sighed, giving him my answer "Fine, but you let me stop you from bleeding on my floor."
With that he gave me a defeated sigh and let me stick the tampon up his nose. I then moved on to his gash on his side, it wasn't quite deep enough for stitches but it was still deep enough to where he needed a bandage or gauze. Well i don't have either of those so what's the next best thing, you guessed it. I went back over to the cupboard and pulled out another package, the perks of being a seventeen year old girl yay.
"Oh come on you have got to be kidding me." Landon said complaining.
"Fortunately I'm not." I said.
After Landon groaned and complained more, I opened up the pad and but it on his gash. "Here hold it." I instructed him. I got up and went to my dresser where there was a roll of tape, how helpful. I took the tape and taped up the pad so it wouldn't fall off. When finished taping up Landon's gash, I couldn't help but let my fingers stray a little bit longer, until Landon cleared his throat. I jumped up, hiding my face, embarrassed at what I had done. "Right you'll be sleeping on the floor."
I went to my closet and pulled out extra pillows and blankets, making a bed for him. Landon was standing in the doorway, and i couldn't help but stifle a laugh at the sight in front of me. "If you so much as put your hand on my bed, you're out of here." I told him
"Yes sir." he responded with a smirk, as he walked over to his make shift bed.
I woke up in the morning to the smell of bacon drifting through my door, my open door. My door was closed last night, with this thought my heart began racing. I sat up and looked around my room, there was no sign of Landon not even his bed was there. I calmed down thinking he left before my mom came and checked on me earlier this morning. I got out of bed and headed for my bathroom, as soon as I opened the door I ran right into a brick wall named Landon. Just from running into him I almost passed out again from being scared.
"We need to really work on announcing your presence." I told him.
