After running into him, Landon, just gave me a weird look. "So what's for breakfast?" he asked rubbing his hands together enthusiastically.
"Nothing, nothing is for breakfast. I don't even remember why I let some stranger stay the night, what was I even thinking, oh that's right I wasn't. You said you would be gone by morning, well it's morning." I told him giving him a pointed look, saying that if he didn't want to get arrested then he better leave.
"Alright, calm down, unless you want everyone in the whole freaking neighborhood to think your insane, talking to yourself." Landon said dramatically waving his arms around as if to make a point.
I stood there looking at him, and then made up my mind. "You still have to tell me about Amelia and what you know. Don't go anywhere, I'll be right back after I eat."
With that I went down stairs to find my parents just left for work, along with a note telling me to call them if I needed anything. I guess they wanted to give me space after what happened last night. It didn't take me long to eat seeing as last night completely drained me of energy and left me even hungrier than when I went to bed. I sat at the table for a while thinking of what to do about Landon, I could sell him out to the cops seeing as i don't even know him. He might as well be Amelia's killer. I visibly shuddered at the thought, but just in case I know my way around a kitchen knife. With that in mind I dragged myself up the stairs.
"Unbelievable." I said as I saw my opened window, on the other side of my bedroom. "He left." I don't even know why I said this, talking to an empty room like I'm insane. Now I'm really faced with the dilemma of whether or not to call the police. Finally I made up my mind, "If he decides to grace us with his presence yet again, then he'll really wish he never set foot in this town." Yet again looking like a crazy person as I ranted and raved to myself.
I headed down stairs and made my way into the living room, as soon as I came in touching distance, I threw myself onto the couch face down, until I heard the little clicking noise my cat's legs make when he walks. "Tigger, come here kitty kitty." I called after him. He stopped mid stride and came walking over to the couch to jump on so he could sit next to me. As soon as he sat down, I started scratching his head, with which he responded to leaning his head into my touch.
I turned on the TV which immediately opened to the news station that my parents watch. I took one look and turned it off, the headline read: Local Teen Brutally Murdered In Own Home.
"I think I'll just go for a run." I told Tigger.
That decision was even worse than turning the TV on.
