Never Going Back Again

Lindsey had gotten up early and caught the first flight to Los Angeles. He had a bad feeling something was wrong with Stevie. After getting off the plane, Lindsey had taken a cab to his house. He threw his suitcase in his Mercedes and drove to Stevie's house.

Lindsey picked up some fresh roses on the way over.He notices a strange car in the driveway but dismisses it. He literally jumps out of his Mercedes and ran up the steps to the door.

Just as he was about to knock, the door opened and out came Anthony from Atlantic records. Anthony has a huge grin on his face as he passes Lindsey on the way to his car. Lindsey turns to see Stevie and his heart drops. She is in what looks like nothing but her robe and bare feet. Her hair is everywhere. It's obvious She just woke up and Anthony has been in her bed.

Lindsey drops the flowers and turns and walks away.

Stevie pleads with him " Lindsey please don't leave, I'm so sorry !"

Lindsey responds " I can't look at you now Stevie." "Don't worry about Sandstone I'll get by Without You."

Stevie is a bawling mess as she watches Lindsey walk out of her life again.

Lindsey makes it to his car and gets in. He is crying too. He thought he had Stevie back. He thought they would be Buckingham Nicks again. He really thought maybe this time they were going to make it. And lastly he thought he would ask her to marry him. All of those thoughts flushed down the toilet.

Lindsey drives away from her and now he knows he really is Without You.

Lindsey gets back to his house and arranges a flight to Kansas City. He drives to the airport and gets on his plane and returns there.

Stevie is devastated. She goes back to bed and cries until she has nothing left. Why does she have to sabotage her happiness? She trys to call Lindsey's home but gets no answer. She is sure is is probably on a plane back for his concert.

The days go by, Stevie has reached out to Lindsey several times but he has refused all contact. The banner on his concert sign that said " Special Guest Star Stevie Nicks " has been taken down.

The Sandstone concert is a sellout. There are disappointed fans because Stevie isn't there, but overall the concert goes well. The set list has been altered. Second Hand News starts things off followed by Go Insane. The band finishes with Never Go Back Again.

Stevie has gone back to the studio. Street Angel recording is going well but She has a huge hole in her world and that is Lindsey Buckingham.

Lindsey continues with his tour and he realizes he has a huge hole in his world. Ms Stevie Nicks.

Reprise records have kept an open dialog with Stevie and Lindsey's representatives. They are still hoping to make that Buckingham Nicks remake record and send them on tour. It is still an exiting project for them.

A couple of months go by, Lindsey's tour is winding down. The last event is a two night engagement at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Lindsey is staying in a suite at the Hilton Club. It feels very empty without Stevie.

Stevie is on a short break from her recording sessions. Anthony has tried to contact her a couple times and has shown up at her door. Karen took care of him, going to talk to upper management at Atlantic records about a certain VP harassing Stevie Nicks. It turns out several of their female clients have complained about Anthony. The record company's security division investigated him and it turns out Anthony has been drugging the women's drinks then taking advantage of them. Atlantic turns this information over to LAPD and Anthony is arrested.

Stevie cries when Karen gives her the news. Karen tells her
" Don't you think it's time you went and seen Lindsey? "
" I booked you a suite in the hotel he's staying in and have a flight chartered."
" I've also arranged with his people for you to go on stage with him and perform Never Going Back Again."

Stevie can't believe all that Karen has done! She is shedding happy tears
Stevie says " Lets get packed and go get my man!"

Stevie and Karen fly into New York City. They check into the Hilton Club and go to Stevie's suite. She proceeds to get ready for tonight.

Lindsey's assistant Jeffrey has brought Lindsey a cup of coffee and the newspaper article about Anthony's arrest. Lindsey reads it over several times. He thinks to himself that he really should of talked this over with Stevie. She was basically drugged and raped by this predator. He feels like a complete ass. He decides to call her after the show and beg her to let him see her. He still has that black box he bought for her in 1976. He would love nothing more than to give it to her! Well he thinks there is something else he like to personally deliver!

It's showtime! Lindsey and the band are ready. The venue is packed. Lindsey and the band take the stage.

They open with Go Insane tonight. They play Go Your Own Way next then they do Soul Drifter. It's time for Never Going Back Again.

Lindsey starts to play, then he sees the most beautiful site on the world, Ms Stevie Nicks walk on stage and join him. He smiles widely and continues with Stevie joining him.

The crowd goes wild! Stevie says to the audience
" Lindsey didn't know I was coming tonight, suprise!"
" And since I am here singing with the love of my life, how about one more song!"

The noise is deafening! The band new about the suprise so they are ready to launch into Blue Letter

The crowds applause is thunderous! Stevie and Lindsey take a bow, then Lindsey takes Stevie's hand and kisses it and says

Stevie sheds a couple of tears and says
" I love you too handsome man "

The two share a sweet kiss and the audience applauds.
