He was sat there again. That mysterious man was always sat there. Every Saturday that man was sat on the bench next to the rose garden. He was always sat on the right hand side occasionally reaching out to one of the roses to stroke the petals. You were always in the park on a Saturday morning to sketch but it had slowly become you just creepily sketching this mysterious man and he slowly became the star of your sketch book. You just wished that you could draw him or the roses close up, but you gathered that it would be a bit rude to just ask someone if you can draw them. Especially if you'd never met them. You could capture his facial features from afar, his small yet slightly pointed nose, his  shining blue eyes, you once walked past him just to see his eye colour so that you could put a ssplash of colour on one page, it was also in this quick walk by that you had noticed that he had some stubble too. On this day you finally picked up the courage to sit closer to the rose bush to draw the roses more accurately. It was definitley better to draw them up close. After sketching the roses a soft yet masculine voice interupted you.

"You draw? May I see?" You hesitantly handed over the book. You must look so creepy now, handing this man a book full of sketches of himself. After scanning the pages slowly he handed over the book, grinning from ear to ear.

"Tres bien! These are magnificent! My name is Francis," You blushed at that and sat down next to him seeing as he was starting a conversation.

"I'm (Y/N)..." You managed to splutter at him. You noticed the plaque on the bench and thought that it would make for a beautiful rubbing on the page you were sketching. It read 'to my darling Jeanne, you are forever alive in my heart, from your dearest friend Francis' . It was somewhat upsetting to read. Francis was always here for his friend.

"I'm sorry about Jeanne," You glanced up at him. A smile spread across his face.

"It's not your fault, and anyway c'est la vie," He spoke softly, "Would you like to see a picture of her? I'd love it if you drew her in that book. It would mean a lot to me."

"I'd love to draw her Francis. I'd be honoured." This somewhat made you feel very happy that he would want you to draw someone so close to him even though he just met you. he handed you an image of a young girl in a military uniform. She was small and dainty. She didn't look like a soldier at all. As you tucked it into her image into your sketch book you both arranged to meet up. Francis told you of stories about France, where they grew up together and how Jeanne always wanted to go to England. Once she had died Francis had moved here just to live her dreams for her. He was sure that she was guiding him in life, like a guardian angel. You began drawing her every day, along with Francis. Over a few months both you and Francis became closer. You spoke about Jeanne and slowly you felt as if you had known her all your life. Over the years you slowly became lovers. You eventually married and moved with Francis, back over to France. He wanted to show you the places he had lived and grown up with Jeanne and he also wanted you to love them too. Eventually you had two sons and a daughter, Pierre, Matheo and Jeanne aone of it would have happened if Francis hadn't met Jeanne all those years ago.

"Jeanne, thank you for guiding me through life and giving me happiness even though you are not here with me anymore. Thank you for blessing me with my four angels of the Earth, (Y/N), Pierre, Matheo and Jeanne. May you bless us all and keep watching over us. Nous vous aimons Jeanne." Francis muttered beside the bed like he did every night. It had become customary for him to pray to her daily just so that she could hear you all and so that she knew you were all okay and thankful for her blessing. She had become the guardian angel of the family and she had changed all your lives for the better.
