Chapter 5: Peaches

"I can't believe TJ just did that! I mean, she knows I hate p-p-pink. She knows why I hate it. It's all my fault! I shouldn't have kicked her. That's basically betraying her. I am a terrible friend," Jade wailed very uncharacteristically.

I was visiting Jade in her hospital room. She had a sprained ankle and had to stay there for a day or two. Apparently, her friend, TJ, had pranked her by turning her black and blue room into pink. And Jade really seemed to hate pink. Then, TJ kicked her, straining her ankle, and then punched her so hard that Jade lost conscience. Currently, Jade was having a mental breakdown and was dealing with her broken heart.

It was sad to see the two fighting like that. I've only known them for two months, but, during that time, they had been inseparable. You see, I was I was one of the President's eleven bodyguards. I used to work in the Sarahtopian police force. My friend, Lily, who also worked there and was the President's personal lawyer, had suggested that I become one of the President's bodyguards. So I became one. Due to my high level of skill, I was quickly appointed as the head bodyguard. TJ and Jade, the butler and ninja, had befriended me. But now they were fighting, so I was worried.

I heard a knock and flipped my head to the direction of the door. It opened up to reveal a bouquet of flowers followed by Lily. Lily spoke softly, "Hey Jade. I'm sorry about what happened. I got you your laptop to keep you entertained."

Jade immediately brightened up. "Thanks Lily!" she said. Then her mood darkened up again. " I still can't believe TJ did that to me! Me! Her best friend!" Jade continued her rant. ( I have to admit, it was really amusing seeing Jade wailing and crying like a baby, since she usually never shows her emotions that much. Please don't tell her I said that, or else she'll kill me!)

Lily quickly set down the flowers, opened Jade's laptop then shoved it into Jade's arms. "Here you go. Your favourite Youtuber just uploaded a new video. Plus, a new episode from your favourite TV show just came out," she informed Jade. She then stood up, faced me and gestured me to exit the room with her. I looked at her quizzically. She mouthed, "Jade needs some alone time."

When we were outside, I asked Lily something. She knew Jade longer than I did, so I figured she could answer. "Hey, why does Jade hate pink so much?"

Lily looked at me and said, "Well it's a long story. Also, it's not really my place to tell you. But I guess you need to know the truth. I guess Jade won't mind."

As we made our way outside the hospital, Lily narrated the story to me," Jade once had an older sister. Her sister loved the colour pink. Then one day, eight years ago when Jade was ten, she went into her sister's room. What she saw inside had scarred her for life."

"What did she see?" I asked her.

Lily sighed and continued softly," It was really horrible. Me and TJ were also there, so we know how hideous the sight was. Blood covered the pink walls and pink carpet of her sister's pink room. On the pink bed, Jade's sister was lying down there, covered in pink clothes and crimson blood. Me and TJ were scared, but Jade was traumatized. She hated pink ever since that day because seeing it reminded her of her sister. She also became a ninja just so she could track down her sister's killer and avenge her."

I processed the new information I had just been told. "Woah, no wonder she hates pink."

The rest of the walk proceeded in silence. When we exited the hospital, Lily bid me farewell, saying that she had to get back to work.

"But TJ, you have to talk to her," I pleaded.

"I won't. Not until she apologizes for betraying me first," replied TJ, causing me to groan.

I was in TJ's room, trying to convince her to go and apologize to Jade. However, TJ wasn't listening. She very stubbornly kept on saying that it was Jade's fault for 'betraying' her, and that Jade deserved what she got.

I tried again," Don't you get it, TJ? Jade's going crazy. You know how much she hates pink. You two are best friends, right? So shouldn't you apologize?"

TJ huffed,"No! I don't want to! Just go away!"

I give up and walk out of TJ's house. Then, I took out me phone and called Lily. She picked up. "Hey Peaches. What's up?" (Everyone calls me Peaches,my last name, instead of Lee-ang, my fist name, because they claim it sounds nicer.)

I pour out my complains to her, "TJ's being an annoyingly stubborn brat. She says she's not going to apologize to Jade, and that Jade deserves what she got, and that it was Jade's fault for betraying her in the first place, and that Jade should apologize first, and all that stuff."

I heard Lily chuckling," Classic TJ. Don't worry. The two will be back to normal in three weeks. Trust me. I know." Then, she added quietly, as if talking to herself, "I hope so."

Sorry for not updating for a while. I had finals and all so I couldn't really write much. And after that, I kind of wanted a break. So yeah..
