Why? Why couldn't today be a peaceful day? Why?!

So, I wake up today early in the morning, thinking that today was going to be a peaceful day. Then BAM! TJ's late, gets 'betrayed' by Jade, pranks Jade, causing Jade to end up in the hospital reduced to a sobbing, broken mess. Not my idea of peaceful.

I sigh and sit down on the couch in my living room, thinking about what I may have done to deserve this. It wasn't fair! What did I ever do to you God? Why do you want to make my life hard? Urrrggghhh!

*Flashback*

I woke up to the sound of chirping birds. Rubbing my eyes open, I glanced at the clock in my room. It read 6 am. I got out of bed and started my daily routine. I liked waking up early. Mainly because early morning was the most peaceful part of the day in Sarahtopia.

After having some breakfast, I decided to go on a stroll outside. While I was enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, I hoped that the rest of the day would be as tranquil as early in the morning.

But it seemed that Fate had other plans for me.

--------------------------------

I slammed the courtroom doors open. I was mad. In fact, I was furious. Furious at TJ for ruining my supposed-to-be peaceful day. Furious at the President for being, well, the President. But I managed to keep it all inside. I spoke to the President, trying to convince her to not lock up TJ in jail for the rest of her life. ( Though I personally didn't mind if that happened because I was mad at TJ for ruining my day.)

Unfortunately, my plan backfired. And I cared. A lot. Mainly because Jade was TJ's best friend. And Jade kicking her would lead to TJ feeling betrayed. Which would lead to TJ pranking Jade. Which would then lead to Jade feeling betrayed. Which was annoying! And frustrating! And the reason I got fifty migraines a day!

I glared at Jade, who was standing over an unconscious TJ. Jade flinched and looked up, giving me a guilty, apologetic gaze. I just sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose, trying to mentally prepare myself for the most tiring part of the day.

----------------------------

I was in the local library, talking to my friend Mary Andre, the librarian. As I laughed at something funny she said, my phone rang. I checked who was calling me. It was TJ. I wondered whether that was a good sign or a bad sign. I was glad that TJ got out of the hospital, but at the same time, I was worried about the call. Sighing, I picked up and braced myself for whatever revenge plan my stubborn friend had in mind this time. " Hey TJ. What is it this time?"

"I need you to help me prank Jade," she replied.

I knew it. "What's the prank?" I asked.

" I'm gonna change Jade's room color into pink."

I frowned. This prank was a bit more extreme than usual. "TJ, you know you can't do that. Jade's still traumatized by that incident. If you do that, Jade's gonna go crazy."

"She deserves it. So, are you helping me or n-"

"No. Way," I said, cutting her off. And with that, I hung up.

Mary looked at me, concerned. "Is everything alright with those two, Lily?" she inquired.

"You know, the usual brawls," I replied, sighing for what seemed like the millionth time today. But this time, with a hint of worry for my friends.

--------------------------------

I knocked on the door and invited myself in. In my arms were Jade's laptop and a bouquet of flowers. I scanned the room and found my friend Peaches and Jade inside. I greeted Jade softly, as I had learnt to do due to the many times this had happened.

After I finished speaking, Jade brightened up slightly, but soon went back to wailing like a baby. I stared at the scene, amazed that the ice-cold Jade Storm had the ability to cry like that. I may have dealt with it many times before, but it was never this bad. TJ, just what did exactly did to do to her?

Thinking quickly, I dropped the flowers, opened up jade's laptop and shoved it into her arms. Then, I gestured to Peaches to follow me outside. She looked at me questioningly to which I said that Jade had better be left alone for the time being.

When we were outside, Peaches asked me why Jade hated pink so much. I told her tale as we made our way outside. It still terrified me to this day.

*End flashback*

You see what I mean? All I ever wanted was a tranquil, uneventful day. But, no. I have to suffer.

Despite all this, I was still worried about Jade. I had never seen her that traumatized. I was also afraid that her and TJ's friendship was now endangered. The pair had a rule that whenever they fought, they have to apologise in three week's time. (Actually, I forced them to make that rule since both of them were stubborn, rock-headed idiots.) But this time, I was worried that nothing was going to get them to reconcile. Ever.

'RRRIIINNGGG!' The sound of the doorbell ringing snapped me out of my moment of self pity and worrying. "Lily, could you get that?" my mother called out from upstairs.

"Just a sec, Mother!" I replied. Groaning, I got up from the couch and walked towards the door. I opened it and checked who it was. I froze. The site of the visitor had shocked me.
