Chapter 5 - The Contract

"Hello."

"Good morning Ms. Sta Maria, this is Jacob." It's Jacob, the one and only Mr. Jacob Jacinto. Shet ang ganda ng timing, ang galing, iba. Just when I thought my day would be good, turns out, it wont.

"Good morning Mr. Jacinto. What is it?"

"I need you in my office, 10 am sharp. No ifs, no buts, I'm your boss, remember?" What the hell? Condescending jerk.

"Pero kailangan ko pumasok sa trabaho ng 11am" I blurted out.

Well that's true. Kahit na naiilang pa din ako kay Sir Alex, hindi naman pwede na basta basta na lang ako umabsent, at isa pa, baka isipin niya na umabsent ako para lang maiwasan siya, though part of me ay gusto yung gawin, hindi pwede kasi kailangan ko yung trabaho and I will not let personal matters get in the way, labas na yun sa trabaho ko.

"I told you no buts. Wait, what work are you talking about? Felicity?"

"It's Maria sir." again I corrected him.

"I don't care. I want you in my office 10 am sharp. Dito na lang tayo mag usap. And you know you can't back away from this Ms. Sta Maria, we have a contract, unless you want me to sue you?"

"Fine. Chill, ok I'll be there."

"Good." then he hangs up.

Wala na akong nagawa kung hindi ang mapasandal na lang sa pader, I'm so messed up. I guess since hindi na rin naman ako makakatulog dahil kailangan ko nang magayos ng sarili mo, tumayo na ako at dumeretso sa banyo. This will be a really long day. Tinext ko na lang ang isa kong kasamahan sa trabaho para sabihin kay Sir Alex na nagkaemergency sa bahay, again I made my dad as an excuse, sinabi ko na lumala nanaman ang ubo nito at kailangan kong dalhin sa hospital, although totoo naman na maysakit talaga si dad, the lie part is that I have to bring him to the hospital, ayaw kasi ni dad na magpunta sa hospital, naalala lang niya yung huling itsura at kondisyon ni mom bago ito pumanaw. I guess, I need to clear everything with Sir Jacinto first, mahirap na kung magkaka conflict pati sa trabaho ko.

About the contract, yes, it was indeed legit. Pagkatapos kasi ng paguusap namin about dun sa "trabaho" ko sa kanya, tinawagan niya ang kaibigan niya na abogado to make a contract. It was stated there that:

1. The employee shall not backout from this deal unless the employer told her to do so.

2. The employee is not allowed to tamper any infromations that the employer will give, all she has to do is write them down, no less, no more.

3. The employee  shall not write any unecessary things in the letter that might harm or that is detrimental to the employers relationship with Sasha Brookes, or else the employee will be held accountable.

4. The employee  shall not miss any day in writing and sending Ms. Brookes a mail through the address and informations given to the employee by the employer.

5. The employee will receive her daily salary of 500 pesos (only) when the mail/letter was already approved by her employer and ready to be mailed.

6. This shall remain a secret with just between the employee, the employer and the lawyer who witnessed the signing of the contract. 

7. This deal will last as long as it is necessary. Only the employer will have a say on when to stop or end the deal. But if it is a mutual decision of the employer and the employee, or the employer failed to do the things written on numbers 8, 9, 10, and 11, then the contract or any deal that was done between both parties will be nullified and terminated.

8. The employer promised to safeguard the identity, the image and the health of his employee.

9. The employer must protect the rights of his employee.

10. The employer must be held accountable for any mishaps that might have happen during the whole term of the deal, unless it was the employee who made the mistake by disobeying what was written on number 3, it is only then that she will be held accountable for her action.

11. The employer must be the only one to give specific information that will be written by the employee on the letter as its main context.

12. Both parties should have a clear understanding with each other and therefore must keep an open and easy communications.

13. Both parties must fulfil their jobs and roles regardless of any personal situations, unless it is a mutual decision to commit any act of violations in this contract.

14. This contract signed by both parties is open for any alterations as long as it is reasonable and necessary.

then at the end of the paper is our full names, we signed it ourselves with the lawyer being the witness. And that's the story of my current doomed situation.

And now, upon realizing what I've just done and have put myself into, hindi ko magawang maghanap ng maayos na damit dahil iniuuntog ko lang ang ulo ko sa pader knowing how stupid and gullible I was. After that,I gathered myself up at nagsimula ng magayos.

Nag suot na lang ako ng isang decent white long sleeved semi formal blouse at pencil skirt, atleast I have to look like someone who will not be easily manipulated. I've been stupid once for signing that contract, I won't do it again. Not this time, not ever.
