Jenna's POV*
I had been here over two weeks now - university had started again at this point. During that time I had gotten better. I wasn't on auto-pilot as often but I wasn't perfect either. I still felt numb but I felt like that before any of this. While I had been here I had taken a liking to sitting in the window ledge and staring out into the distance. Much like I did at home.I gulped at the thought. Thinking like that often made me feel lonely and even sort of homesick. The few times I didn't feel like that was when I was sleeping or when Leah came to visit. One of the women here - Mila - also came to visit me sometimes. She was nice. Kind. But she couldn't talk to me often due to Aikya's 'Big Plan'.
It was killing me not knowing what was going on. I am a naturally curious person. Call me nosey but I felt like I need to know. But I had made Leah promise to trust me as I would do the same in return. I can't betray her trust. Despite the fact she had been lying for the entirety of our friendship. I couldn't.
I needed something to distract myself.
I hopped off of my perch. Grabbing a long thin cardigan I wrapped it around myself as I left the room. I descended the massive staircase. When I finally made it down to the ground floor my legs were aching ever so slightly.
I walked into the office where I knew she would be hiding. I knocked on the door as a way of announcing myself before slipping inside.
"Jenna, you've left your room." Aikya said sounding genuinely surprised.
"Yeah." I responded nervous to make my request "Um where's the nearest bookshop?"
"And why, exactly do you need to know?" she questioned
"Well I need something to do here and all my books are at home." I explained
I noticed an emotion cross here face before her walls went up again. What was that about? She didn't look at me after that continuing with some sort of paperwork.
"No."
"Why not?" I asked curious
"You can not leave. Its too dangerous." She said simply
"Well what am I supposed to do then? Sit in my room staring at the walls until I finally lose it. You said it yourself I'm not exactly the most sane person right now."
She sighed putting her pen down she looked at me, hands clasped together.
"I get it. I do. You want to go back to your normal life. But you can't. And that's no ones fault that this is how your life turned out. But this is how it turned out. And we need to keep you save but we can't do that if you are out there because you want a book. We will send someone to get you some and maybe get Leah to get yours from home but you can not leave." she finished speaking picking up her discarded pen she turned back to her paperwork.
"Why do you care? What makes it the witches and shapeshifters responsibility." I demanded curiosity getting the best of me "Does it have to do with the fact I can't be compelled" I added on as an after thought.
Her head whipped up to meet my eyes her own so comically wide it was almost concerning. Panic flooded her taking over expression.
"W-w-what? H-how do you know th-that?" She stuttered
"What did you think the vampires wanted with me? Answers as to why I couldn't be compelled."
She started shaking her head, mouth gaping. She put her head in her hands. She suddenly stood up, a hand pasted to her forehead she began to pace. She kept muttering 'no' under her breath. It wasn't that bad, was it?
"Tala! Tala! Tala!" she called.
Said girl came rushing into the room panic and concern evident on her face, due to her summoning. Aikya used a shaky hand to beckon her closer. The girl rushed over clearly seeing how Aikya was acting. She started to whisper in the girls ear - Tala, I think her name was - her hands moving rapidly as she spoke.
I felt bad for ever saying anything I just couldn't see how it was such a big problem. Though I probably would if I had a clue what was going on.
She quickly stopped speaking looking towards the door. Her whole persona reflected nervousness. I twisted my head around to face the door.
It was at this point that I noticed the candle flames had risen significantly in height. There was a gentle breeze going through the room but there were no windows and the door was closed.
"Zula! Zula! Zula!" Aikya called
A dark skinned girl with a small afro came in the room curiosity lurking in her deep brown eyes.
"Zula, please take Jenna to her room using the sealing spell then return here."
The girl nodded and beckoned me to follow I looked back at Aikya who had gone back to her rushed, panicked whispering. Tala seemed to be listening intently as she nodded along. I had no doubt that they were talking about me as I went to leave the room she looked at me frowning slightly, in what looked like worry before the door closed behind me.
I followed Zula up the mountain of stairs to my room. This was one of the reasons I didn't leave my room, the stairs. When we finally got to the second floor landing, Zula opened my door I stepped inside and turned back to face her. She was knelt on her knees sprinkling, what looked like salt, over the threshold of my room muttering under breath in what sounded like Latin. Even when she had finished sprinkling the salt she continued her incantation.
Minutes passed and soon she stood up and left but not before shooting me a sympathetic smile. Once she was gone I walked slowly towards the door. It looked the same - except for the salt. I slowly extended my hand towards the door. Whereas normally my hand would go through the door frame this time it was stopped by an invisible force. Sealing spell she had. They had sealed me in.
I shouldn't of said anything, Aikya was stressed enough. I just keeping adding to the problems. At least this way I couldn't add to the mess I had caused.
If I had thought I was trapped before I most definitely am now.

*Okay, so I have kind of abandoned this story as I don't know how to get to the next part and after reading this chapter I have decided that that's probably best. I think I'm going to unpublish this story and then finish it before I think of publishing it again. This story needs a lot of editing if every chapter is like this one. Anyway, sorry guys.
**I lied.
