New Beginnings

Chapter 3: A Sudden Transformation

I slowly started to wake up when I heard someone calling out for me. That's when someone shouted and I felt myself being lifted but something didn't feel right. I finally could hear clearly and the next sentence that came out of someone's mouth shocked me back to reality.

"This poor Espeon is hurt." I opened my eyes and saw I had four legs and looked back to see I had a tail. I struggled out of the arms of whoever had grabbed me and I rushed through the trees and back into the town. I could smell Umbreon, don't ask me how but I could. I rushed into the Pokemon Center and saw Umbreon sitting with Ash, Brock, Misty and Gary.

"Don't worry, Umbreon. I'm sure they'll find her soon." Umbreon was looking at the ground worried.

"Umbreon!" I called out and she turned abruptly to see me standing there.

"It can't be..." She said using Telepathy.

"What is it Umbreon. Is there something wrong with that Espeon?" Gary asked. I felt faint again and that's when someone came into the Pokemon Center behind me.

"Now little one, you need to relax so we can help you." Nurse Joy's voice came and I jumped away and used Psychic. She floated into the air and looked at me. "Please Espeon, we didn't mean to scare you, but you have a high fever and some injuries. Please." I set her back down and shook my head backing away.

"Umbreon, please help me. I don't know what happened. I wasn't feeling good and I blacked out in the forest but when I woke up I was an Espeon. I don't understand what happened to me. I'm scared." I explained and Umbreon rushed to my side and barked at Nurse Joy to stay back.

"You have to let them take care of you, she's right you're hurt. Please relax, we'll sort this out soon." That's when I collapsed to the ground.

Nurse Joy took me back to a room and the others came with because they were confused as to why Umbreon was so focused on me. I was set in a bed and left to rest. I frowned and stood up on my legs.

"How did this happen to me..." I wondered out loud using Telepathy. "Maybe if I focus on changing back I will." I closed my eyes and focused on changing back to a human form. When I opened my eyes nothing had changed.

I sighed and laid back down, closing my eyes this time to sleep.

When I woke up again I was surprised to see I had hands instead of two extra legs. I looked outside and saw it was early morning.

I rose and started making myself presentable. As soon as that was done, I opened the window and made it looked like Espeon disappeared in the wild again. Then I headed out of the room and went to the main area to see that everyone was still asleep.

Umbreon's ears twitched and when she saw me she jumped up.

"Kat!" The others woke up at the mention of my name and as Umbreon jumped into my arms.

"I'm sorry I made you worry. But don't worry I'm alright." She licked my face gently.

"Don't do that again." She stated firmly and I chuckled.

"I won't I promise." Gary and the others got up, looking at me like I was still a part of their dream.

"Kat, where did you run off to?" Gary asked finally.

"I...." So Umbreon hadn't told them about my sudden transformation into a Pokemon. "I um..." I muttered and that's when I felt a headache coming on. I touched my head lightly and that's when another flashback flashed before my eyes.
