"Morning." I make my presence known as I walk into the kitchen, seeing only Jake and Chloe at the kitchen island , eating their usual scrambled eggs and toast while watching the morning news.

"Morning. How was your run?" Chloe lifts her head from her meal to look at me. She knew from my black leggings, turtle neck sports bra and Nike shoes, that I had been on my usual morning run. "The trail was getting quiet foggy , so I cut it short. But it was alright." I walk pass her and open the fridge to get some water. "That's odd. I mean summer is almost here. Maybe a storm is coming."Jake pipes in.

"Yeah maybe. But it's okay, I guess." I shrug. "How are you guys? Any good battle scars?" I genuinely ask before taking a huge gulp of water. "I'm okay, I had a bite on my shoulder from a rogue but it's all healed." Chloe shows us her clean shoulder. "I didn't get any injuries. I'm cool. You cool, Ash?" Jake demands over his breakfast. "My wrist has healed up nicely, but--"

My reply gets interrupted when the news lady says

'-- Last night at approximately 11 pm , the Mayfair  suburban residence was under  fire. The cause for the fire and the number of casualties are yet to be know, but chief of police, Mary Warner, believes that it might have been an accidental fire. Stay tuned as more will be revealed soon. I'm Julie Summers, from Network One, bringing you the latest news.' The middle age Julie Summers , in her usual grey jacket and white shirt finishes her broadcast.

"The sad part about all of this is that for once we are as clueless as the humans.  The rogues leader got away when I was ambushed with two other rogues. Those that we've captured are not talking. Rogues don't usually attack in groups which is weird." Jake grunts. "I feel bad for the Western people, they are forced to leave their homes and live in warehouses now, at least until their homes are rebuilt." I sigh. "Yeah. This sucks, but we will know more today hopefully. But for now school awaits." Chloe chimes, getting up from her stool, as if on cue, a horn beeps outside and Chloe fixes her white long-sleeved romper and grabs her tanned hand bag. "Well that would be Alex and Aley. See you guys at school." she blows kisses at us.  "Oh no Missy, we had a deal last night.  Both of you spill your numbers." I smirk, leaning on the counter.

"Shit I was hoping you'd forget. " Chloe frowns, crossing her arms. "In your dreams, now we all say it together so no one cheats. Ready?  1,2...3" I state grinning like the cat that ate the canary.

"20" said Chloe
"23" I said
"22" Jake said.

"Ha! I win. " I jump up and down, roll my hips back and forth with my hand in the air. "Pay up." I extend my hand out, waiting to receive my reward.

"Oh OK. I'll give you later. Alex is waiting. " Chloe claims with an eye roll, then marches away in her nude colored heels out of the kitchen.

"Me too." Jake finishes his breakfast, waking up to place his dirty utensils in the sink.

"You better!" I yell loud enough for both of them to hear.

"Does she live here now?" I giggle pushing myself up onto the counter in order to watch Jake clean his dishes, while finishing my water. "She thinks she does. But I doubt it." Jake rolls his eyes, chuckling.

Chloe had the tendency to come to our house when she felt like it, which was always, but she was basically family.

Chloe Collins was an odd little bird. She was 5'2", had brown skin, short ebony hair , night black eyes and was a natural beauty. She was fun and loving. Her cute cheerleader routine would make you believe she was innocent but that was all an act, if asked me. She was a very serious candidate for the Alpha Tournament that was coming up. Her skill was : camouflage. Her tiny form gave her an advantage to hide and attack at any time, she used her surrounding to her advantage perfectly. But apart from that she was a sweetheart that was quiet in love with Alex, they were mates. They're all lovey dovey with each other, which was sickly sweet and the person who suffered the most was Aley, she had to ride to school with those two.
