The nightmare was present that night, however I knew it was just a dream, so going back to sleep was possible. I had concluded that the only reason I was having them was when I felt uneasy and unsafe, the nightmares kept my guard up.
However when I did go back to bed, the nightmares did not come back so I did get a good night's sleep after that.
The gang had left around 11, but we did have a pretty chill night. Jake and I did not have our usual movie night with just us as per tradition this week, but it was still as fun with the gang around.
"Look who's up?" Jake ruffles my hair as I walk out of my room. I yawn "What are you talking about? You just woke up too." I rub my eyes. "Yes, but you are usual up earlier for your run." Jake explains, while we both strole down the hallway towards the stairs." It's not that late." I defend. "It's 9 am. You wake up at 5 am, so it is late for you." Jake smirks. "Whatever." I push him.
I reach the stairs and sit on the railing, holding firmly on it so I don't slide down. "Do you think Claire is up?" I whisper to Jake. "Probably at the meeting with dad." he smiles. "Good." I smirk with him.
I lift my hands off the railing and let my body slip on the length of the railing. I have been going this with Jake ever since I could walk, Claire hated it. That's why we had to stay clear of her.
I get near to the end, I get ready to land on my feet. Not long after I had landed, Jake did the same behind me, I turn to him and we laugh like kids.
"That was dangerous. I suggest you do not do it again unless you want to break your necks." Stephen's bored voice is heard from the kitchen. I turn my gaze to see him standing in the threshold with a cup of coffee in his hand.
Great.
I had forgotten that RoboCop was still here.
I had totally ignored his existence since he arrived last night. It was annoyed enough that it was him that was babysitting me, it got worst when he actually talked. It was always condescending and all-knowing.
"I've been doing this for years. I think I'm good, Lycan Stephen." I roll my eyes, walking over towards him and dunking into the kitchen.
"A person can have 25 years of experience of driving but can still get into an accident." Stephen mutters behind me.
"Well don't worry, I'm an amazing driver." I smirk, going for the orange juice in the fridge. Jake snickers, as he passes behind me to get to the coffee machine.
Stephen stays quiet after that, Jake and I makes small talk while he drinks his coffee, eats his bacon and eggs and I eat my usual cereal.
It was when we were almost done that Luna Claire waltz in with her hands full of groceries.
"Morning, guys." she smiles at us over her multiple bags. "Morning." Jake and I say in unison, Stephen just nodding like a creep.
"Did you go to the meeting with dad?" Jake demands, as Claire starts putting her groceries away.
"No, I heard the meeting is still going on until now though." She ruffles through her paper bags.
"Wow that is intense. They've been at it for two hours." Jake keeps eating his food.
"Well, that's politics, my dear son. But that should not be your concern for now. These should be." she pulls out two envelopes with my name and Jake's name scribbled on it.
"What is it?" I stare skeptically at those envelopes.
"I don't know. It was in the mail along with the usual mail." Chair shrugs placing the rest of the groceries in their usual places. "Maybe your college acceptance letters." She winks. I doubt it, I didn't even apply to any colleges, which I still need to tell her.
