Kate's POV

"And why is that?" Noah asked.

"It's nothing. I think it's because of my lack of sleep that's why I'm not thinking straight," I said shaking my head.

"Oh okay.. Do you want water, fruits, anything?" Noah asks.

"Um.., water please," I said softly.

"Okay. I'll go and get it," he says and leaves.

Now, I'm left with Jared.

"How are you feeling?" he asks concerned and came to my side.

"I'm feeling fine I guess. I don't know if I should sleep some more or not," I said honestly.

"Oh.., okay," he said just staring at me.

"So.., um..," I dragged on, trying desperately to rake something in my head to help not make this situation really awkward.

He was just staring at me. He cleared his throat and shifted his gaze to the ground.

"I got your water Kate," Noah says coming in. Thank God!

"I'm gonna go back down to get your soup that one of our house help made," he said.

"But, i didn't ask for soup," I said.

"I know, but she won't quit bugging me. She's not taking no for an answer," he said with a smile and went off.

I got my water and drank it. Water was dripping from my lips and I wiped it. Looking up, I found Jared staring at me. Again!

"Is there something on my face?" I asked him

"No. Why'd you ask?" he said curiously.

"Because you keep staring at me. It's kinda creepy and it makes me uncomfortable," I stated.

"Oh okay. I wasn't starring though. Or well.., I was looking at you and trying to figure out your past. Noah never really told me anything about you," he said.

Hmmm...

"I thought you said you heard so much of  me coming from Noah when we first met?" I asked getting confused.

"Honestly, I didn't. That's my same exact line when I meet someone who is friends with someone I know," he said.

"What the hell," I said while giggling.

"Why do you want to 'figure me out'? Like.., who wants to get to know me? There's nothing special about me. There's really nothing interesting or fascinating about me,' I claimed.

"That is--" he was cut off.

"I got the soup," Noah said and came in.

Setting the tray on my lap, I looked at the bowl.

"This is a lot of soup. How does she expect me to finish this?" I asked freaking out.

Receiving laughs in return from both Jared and Noah, I glared at them.

"Help me finish this! She's going to get mad at me if I don't!" I exclaimed.

"For real? She still does that? She never changed," Noah said.

Throwing a pillow at them, I repeated myself. Argh! I hate repeating myself.

"You eat as much as you can first and then we'll finish the rest," Jared said chuckling.

"No, what the fuck. Get some bowls and spoons," I said irritated.

"Okay, fine," Noah says and went off to get the bowls and spoons.

Looking at Jared again, he's staring at me again.

"Well, sit down," I said with a 'duh' tone.

A pregnant silence was over us.

"That's not true," he said out of nowhere.

"What's not true?" I asked confused.

"That there's nothing fascinating or interesting about you," he said lifting his head up to look into my eyes.

Noah came in and handed Jared his bowl. While he was pouring themselves some soup, I cleared my throat. It's so freaking awkward.

"Eat up," Noah says so chirpy.
