You Found Me (A Reed Deming Fanfic) Chapter 11- Wakey Wakey

Reed's POV

I just sat there, looking at her, holding her hand. Kat had woken up from her coma, but now she was sleeping. The nurse who had comforted me earlier (nurse Lexi) made sure that I was the first person to see her, NOT that other guy Mason. That guy is just a jackass. He CHEATED on Kat. How?! How could someone possible not unconditionally love Kat? Everything about her is just perfect. That idiot Mason needs a reality check. If he's gonna cheat on Kat for some girl who looks like she escaped from a zoo(which I'm sure any girl at our school does compared to Kat), then he needs to go realized how messed up he is. Suddenly, it all clicked. Kat had been so distant about me complimenting her and all of that cheesy stuff earlier because she was afraid. Afraid...to fall in love again. STUPID! How did I not see this earlier?! It all makes so much sense! She's so afraid to make the same mistake of falling in love, that she's separated herself from anyone that could hurt her, aka everyone. That ass had to cheat on her. Speaking of the devil, I wonder if he left like I told him to. I let go of Kat's hand, and peeked out the window. I sadly found Mason sitting there. He must be waiting for me to leave so he can see Kat. HA! No chance I'm leaving this room until she's walking with out with me, her fingers entwined with mine. Suddenly, my mom walked in with two cops.

"Honey," my mom started "This is officer Jay and officer Rob. They're here to talk to you about what you saw."

I slowly nodded. I was afraid to talk about what I saw, because I have a feeling I'm just gonna break down and cry...again.

"Alright Reed, were just going to ask you to tell us EXACTLY what you saw tonight."

"Alright," I began "I had come home from hanging out with Kat. I went up to my room, but I wasn't tired, so I decided to listen to music. I had been listening to music for about half an hour, then I heard banging. Then it went from banging to yelling. It was around 1:20 in the morning when this started. I knew it wasn't my mom or brother. I knew about Kat's dad abusing her, but when I looked through her window-"

It was getting harder to tell this story.

"It's ok Reed. Keep going. What did you see?" Officer Rob asked.

"I saw...her dad. He was lifting her off the ground and holding her against the wall. Then he-he punched her. Straight in the mouth. There was a lot of blood. She tried to run out, but he pushed her down and started kicking her. By that time, I was running over to her house and knocking on the door. He dad answered. He was obviously drunk. He then threw Kat out the door. Just chucked her right out, as if she was a bag if trash. Then I took her to my house, and now we're here."

Both officers stated at me with their jaws hanging open. Then finally the regained their cool and asked,

"Is that really how it happened?"

"Absolutely."

"Ok well that's all we need for today. Thank you Reed."

"No problem."

Then they walked out the door along with my mom. Thinking back to the whole situation, my eyes started stinging and I felt tears brimming my eyes.

"Come on Kat. Wakey wakey." I said,

then I started to cry.

"I'm gonna sing your favorite song ok?" I said with a wobbly voice.

Then I took her hand, stared right at her beautiful face, and sang Just Imagine, her favorite song by me.

"Just imagine if you were my girl, two crazy kids that could take on the world," now I was whispering/crying " you owe me nothing just living on love till the end. Now imagine that I'm your boyfriend-" while singing this part I noticed something. Her lips. They were moving with the words, and she was smiling. That's when I got really excited.

"That's it Kat! You know the words." Then I continued singing. "I put you first give you all that I can." Now her eyes were open( more like squinted open) and she was still saying the words.

"OH MY GOD KAT!!!!" I exclaimed "THANK GOD YOUR ALRIGHT!! I would be able to live with out you. Are you ok do you need the docto-"

"Reed," she said to my in a quiet voice."thank you."

"Anything for you Kat."

Her eyes were now open normally and she was looking at me with her gorgeous smile.

"Kat, I-" I was interrupted when I the door opened to revile him.

Mason.
