You Found Me (A Reed Deming Fanfic) Chapter 5 - New Beginnings

Kat's POV

He is irresistibly cute. Reed is the boy I helped when he fell outside his house and cut his hand. He is also my idol. I was so surprised that I didn't freak out when I first met him. I didn't want him to think I was some crazy fan so I acted like I didn't know who he was. I was helping him wrap up his hand at my house when I had to leave the bathroom to get my phone downstairs, just to realize it was an unknown number. I had no idea who it was so I ignored it. Gosh, now that I think about it Reed's eyes are as blue as the ocean, and his hair falls perfectly on his forehead. Wait, what the hell am I saying? I said I would never like anyone let alone love anyone after what happened. It was about a year and a half ago. I had met Mason and we instantly clicked. He was funny, kind, and cared about me. Well, at least he acted like he cared. I remember seeing him sucking this cheerleaders face off in the janitors closet at school. And to make it even worse, that cheerleader was my enemy Jennifer. The first thing I did was slap him, my nails making direct contact with his cheek. My nails are actually pretty long so when I hit his cheek, I saw blood. It wasn't alot but it was still a cut. Then what he said shocked me.

"Kat, I love you. I'm so sorry."

I expected him to hate me. And I especially didn't expect him to try and fix things. He had already done to much damage. Then to make things even worse, Jennifer pulled him back into the janitors closet, locked the door, and he didn't try to come back out. That was probably the worst day of my life for me, and my wrists. That day was the day my scars became noticeable. Now that I think about it, I think it's ridiculous that I let a boy make me feel that depressed. Now whenever he sees me in the hallways, he gives me a long look up and down, and a side smile(which I will admit is pretty hot). It's actually funny because Jennifer now has a new boyfriend and Mason is all alone. Anyway back to Reed. I know it's dangerous for me to think this, but I think Reed might be different than other guys. He seemed really sweet. But, I know a guy like him will probably go for girls like Jennifer. So he's someone I'm gonna be just friends with. My thoughts were interrupted when I realized how long I had left Reed by himself, so I stated heading up the stairs. Then, I heard a loud gasp coming from the bathroom. My first thought was that Reed was hurt, so I bolted up the stairs into the bathroom, and what I saw made me turn white as a sheet of paper. He was holding it. "It" being the razor that I threw away earlier. He slowly look up at me and asked

"D-did you use this to hurt yourself?"

I was about to tell him, but then I realized that if I told him it would probably ruin our friendship. He would think I'm some freak, and plus I don't even use it anymore. I wasn't about to loose my only friend. So I had to lie.

"Ofcourse not. My dad was using it to shave and then he cut himself by accident, so he threw it away."

I guess all the years I took of drama worked because he instantly sighed with relief.

"Thank god! I wouldn't be able to handle you doing this to yourself. But it was silly of me to think that you would. I mean, your a beautiful girl, who I'm sure any guy would drool over ." He said slightly blushing looking at the ground.

I couldn't take this. He was making it so hard to not fall in love with him.

"Ha. You'd be surprised how wrong you are, but thanks. Anyway can I show you something?" I asked him.

I decided that I would show him my secret spot. The spot I always go to when my dads home. It's kind of like my safe haven that's all mine. It's also where I keep my favorite thing in the whole world, and I wanted to show it to him.

"Sure!" He replied enthusiastically.

I made sure his hand was wrapped up as good a possible, and we headed to my spot. I was so glad that I could finally say I had a friend. Maybe this is what I need for a new beginning. A fresh start in life.
