You Found Me (A Reed Deming Fanfic) Chapter 18- Bad News

Kat's POV

Once reed and I got back to my house, we set up a bunch of blankets on the ground to sleep on. It was only 7:30 so we decided to watch a movie. I'm really nervous because Reed and I have school tomorrow, and he'll see first hand how much I'm bullied. I'm kinda embarrassed about it. I've always been to scared to do anything, and no one seemed to care. But thank god this is the last week, then I'll have a nice long summer break.

"Kitten, you ok?"

Suddenly Reed plopped down on the floor next to me and tapped my nose.

"Um yeah I'm fine. Let's just watch a movie."

I turned on the tv and The Lorax was on. I love this movie. I was trying to focus on it, but there was just a huge question burning in the back of my mind.

"Reed, can I ask you something?"

"Of course kitten, what up?"

"Well ummm you know how you met Trevor tonight and he was really nasty to me and you? Well it's ten times worse at school and more people act like that towards me. I just want to know that no matter what, I won't lose my best friend."

I then felt hot, sticky tears start rushing down my cheeks. I can't lose Reed. He's the only person I've become really close with besides Kellen.

"Oh kitten, you couldn't lose my even if you wanted to. I'll always be here."

Reed then pulled me into a hug. His classic hugs. He has the best hugs. They seem to always make me feel better.

"Listen I hate to bring this up, but why has Trevor been messing with you?"

The second Reed asked me that, I kinda laughed. It's a stupid yet painful story, but I trust Reed and I have to tell him.

"Well umm it's been happening for a while. Since 3rd grade actually. I h-"

"Wait, your telling me this has been going on for 6 freaking years and no one has done anything about it?" Reed asked.

"Ummmm yes?" I whispered quietly.

"Keep going." Was all he said.

"Ok well in 3rd grade he apparently had a 'crush' on me and I absolutely hated him. He told me that he liked me and I told him I hated him, and that's how it all started. After that he would make fun of how I dressed, how I looked, how I sang, and everything else."

Reed just started at me with a blank face.

"So your telling me that he's been harassing you for that long just because you rejected him 3rd grade?"

I just chucked and nodded.

"Kat, that's pathetic as fuck."

I burst out laughing after he said that.

"Kat, don't you think it's time to tell someone ab-"

ITS WHERE MY DEMONS HIDE, ITS WHERE MY DEMONS HIDE DONT GET TO-

Reed was interrupted by my phone ringing.

"Hello?" I answered my phone.

"Katherine? It's officer Jay."

"Hi officer! It's KAT actually if you don't mind."

"Oh right. Anyway um I have some news for you. It's about your father."

Oh god. My heart is racing a million miles a second and I can barely breathe. What happened? Are they giving him a warrant? Is he coming home?

"Um what about him."

Now Reed has his ear pressed against the phone trying to hear the conversation.

"Well you are um required to visit him tomorrow after school at the jail."

Oh. My. Dear. Lord. Is he serious?! My dad, who am I kidding he's not my dad. This guy is nuts!! He wants to kill me. Suddenly before I could say anything, Reed snatched the phone out of my hand.

"Listen dude, this guy is nuts. He a freaking crazy man! Kat shouldn't be required to see him! It's makes no freaking sense to send her to see him!"

Then officer Jay started talking, but I couldn't understand any of what he was saying. Reed was obviously pissed off because he had his fists clenched.

"Can I at least go with her?" Reed asked in a ticked off whisper.

"Ok whatever." Was all Reed said before he hung up the phone.

"What did he say?" I asked.

"He said you are required to see the guy by law. I'm allowed to come with you. A car will pick us up here after school."

He looked so mad. And to be honest, I'm just scared. I didn't realize how scared I was until I started crying.....a lot.

"Oh no. Don't cry kitten. I'm gonna be here every step of the way. I promise. He can never hurt you ever again."

Reed pulled me onto his lap and started singing Story Of My Life by One Direction into my ear. This song is so amazing. By the end of the song, I was exhausted. I snuggled up next to Reed on the floor and fell asleep.

Reeds POV

I can't believe it. I'm so pissed that this dumb ass officer is making Kat see this dude. I'm not even gonna call him her dad. This whole situation had caused me to make a very important vow with myself. I vowed that I would love my daughter unconditionally and never hurt her. This whole thing has also made me realize what a strong girl Kat is. She had endured years and year of literal hell.

BUZZZ BUZ BUZZZ

Kat's phone was on vibrate and started buzzing. She had a text from......Kellen. Gross.

Blondie<3- Hey boo! My mom and I are heading home now and was wondering if I could walk with you to school tomorrow?

I decided to reply for Kat. And why the hell is he listed as Blondie<3?!

Me-Hey Kellen. It's Reed. Kat fell asleep.

After that I waited for about 2 minutes until he replied with,

Blondie<3-I'm walking with her to school tomorrow.

Then he didn't said anything else. Great. I have to deal with that jerk tomorrow. I put Kat's phone down and laid down next to her. She looked so relaxed for once. She usually looks on edge and worried, so she looked different when she was sleeping. I was falling asleep when suddenly my phone buzzed. It's a text from my mom.

Mom-Hey Reed! Are you spending the night at Kat's again?

Me-yeah. Kellen is out of town so I'm spending the night here again. I'll be back tomorrow. I'm right next door anyway lol.

Mom- ok honey. Love you! Don't do anything I wouldn't like or that you'll regret.

Me- MOM!

Mom- I'm kidding. Goodnight honey. Love you!

Me- Night mom.

God, only my mom. I looked over at Kat. She had her arm draped over her forehead, and the scars were visible on her wrist. God, I would pay to kill who ever made her do that to herself. She's so perfect it's not even funny and I wish she would just realize it. Suddenly she shifted and wrapped her arms around my waist. I swear a whole freaking zoo just broke lose in my stomach. She is just....my everything. If anyone tried to mess with her tomorrow, they are dead meat. I'm gonna protect her, even if that means I get hurt instead.

Awww Reed is so cute! Sorry this is a crap chapter, I just haven't been able to focus recently and haven't really been myself. I'm so sorry. I promise, next chapter will be full of good stuff. Anyway did you all watch the Story Of My Life music video?! Because I did like a gazillion times and I came to the conclusion that Louis looked like a freaking Disney Prince. Who agrees? And Harry's haircut! And Don't even get me stared on how cute Niall looked in that shirt! Then Zayn was wearing suspenders!! Then Liam's facial hair. I'm ok with it, but I don't love it. I still adore Liam though and his solo was just perfection like the rest of the boys. I'll put the video on the side so you can see what I'm talking about. LOVE YOU ALL MY LOVLIES!!!!!! ~Kat
