Chapter 70:Instinct

No one mentioned the instincts that came with being a Sky.

Tsuna really wished someone had mentioned the instincts.

Xanxus had laughed at him when he mentioned it. He'd also been the one to explain them, as it was something only another Sky could put into words.

It was well known that all Skies accepted their Elements as they were, with everything they had.

What most didn't know was in return for this acceptance Skies were possessive as hell.

Tsuna was naturally easy going, naturally kind and honest and protective.

But the whole Sky thing was an entirely different story.

Tsuna hadn't been prepared for the instant and powerful urge to basically maim the man who had a Sky Flame and who had approached his Guardians.

Oh Tsuna knew the man didn't know they were his Guardians, and most likely didn't know that they were claimed Elements who were entirely off limits. That that man most likely only knew his Elements were powerful and that he wanted the Elements for his own.

Tsuna could sense when the man's Sky Flame brushed against his Elements' Flames, as the man's Sky Flame tried to draw them away from Tsuna. (Weak, Entirely too weak for them what did the man think he was doing?) Tsuna hadn't even been looking at nor near his Rain and Lightning when the man had approached them, hadn't even known another Sky not in his trusted group was near them, but the moment the man's Sky Flames had attempted to snare his Rain and Lightning away, he had tensed and straightened, his head turning sharply as he turned away from his discussion with Luss-nee (Tsuna had long ago given into the Varia Sun's demands for this form of address and has also stopped struggling when the man showed up and demanded Tsuna model for him- it was pointless and Luss-nee was an excellent designer. Even Reborn had been impressed) mid sentence his eyes zeroing in on the foolish Sky.

Tsunayoshi didn't notice as his Will flared in the room, as the temperature dropped to almost freezing with his anger, as every member of his family instantly began to converge on him, as every single person in the Ballroom turned to stare.

He was too focused on the man who was trying to take what was not his to touch.

The man who continued to stop his Rain and Lightning from coming to their Sky.

Tsuna would never quite realize the powerful impression he made on the entire Mafia World that day as he glided through the Ballroom- all the guests parting like the Red Sea before him- with all the lethal grace of someone who had learned from the World's Best Killer, his Will flaring strong and bright and pressing on all not under his protection. His voice was a soft silken almost-whisper dangerous in the way an odorless, tasteless poison already digested was, but it carried effortlessly over the people, seeming to echo in the room. "I should hope, sir, that you are not so tactless, as to try and steal from me?" the man whirled startled and Tsuna continued, tilting his head as he asked "Or perhaps...you are so brazen as to attempt it?"

Tsuna didn't even notice his own tone (Something he had perfected himself to use on the likes of Reborn, Mukuro, Xanxus and Hibari), the way his Will was growing and pressing in on those he did not consider to be family, the way his eyes were half-lidded (a look he had learned and combined from both Reborn and Xanxus- all dangerous lounging predator just before it lunged for the throat). The man sort of stammered to a stop, noticing the powerful Will of this Sky, but not understanding why this Will is flaring and focusing on him.
