Chapter 71

Chapter 71:Dancing

The people of the mansion turn to the ballroom. They can't see into it, but they can hear.

'Don't think about it. Just move your body. Listen to the music...'

There is laughter echoing over the music. Butlers and maids alike grin to each other, eyes warm with joy at the sound. It was rare to hear voices laugh so breathlessly, so joyful, and for the moment free of burdens and weight.

In this moment the voices that echo out of the ballroom are the voices of children, of family sitting together and enjoying the fact they're alive and together.

'Sing, oh, ey, oh! Just move those left feet, go ahead get crazy! Anyone can do it
Sing, oh, ey, oh!'

Tsuna is breathless with laughter as he sweeps Yamamoto into a crazy sort of tango-swing bit of footwork across the ballroom floor. (The Dancing Disaster that he is, Yamamoto trips a few times causing them both to crack up even as they dance)

There's nothing romantic in the movements. It's just family having a moment together as they dance around the room together with no regards for gender, height or age.

Reborn is in the room, a tall 13 year old as he grows from the removal of the curse and Tsuna thoughtlessly passes Yamamoto to a laughing Kyoko as he sweeps up the man he owed so much and pulled him into the dance floor.

'Show the world you've got that fire! Feel the rhythm getting louder. Prove to them you've got the moves. I don't know about you...I feel better when I'm dancing, yeah, yeah'

It didn't take more than a few steps of 'swing style' ballroom for Reborn to snort and take control of the lead, pulling Tsuna along as he laughed.

It was good to see his student relax like this. He had done just as brilliantly as Reborn had always known he could as a Boss, but Tsuna needed these moments. The moments where they were not 'boss' and 'subordinate' where they were not 'Sky' and 'Guardians' but simply family sitting together and enjoying each other's company.

Reborn sensed it as Hibari approached the door and easily guided his student towards the door as it opened. Reborn knew Hibari wouldn't lash out at the 'little carnivore' when Tsuna did what he did. (Reborn had been proud when Tsuna finally lost it with his Cloud's temper when it came to family and had exploded that it 'wasn't crowding because they were all pack.' It had had an impact on the situation as Hibari's mindset shifted that slight bit.)

'When you finally let go...and you slay that solo, cause you listen to the music sing, oh, ey, oh! Cause you're confident, hey, and you let your hips sway, if you knew that you could do it!'

Sure enough when a laughing Tsuna snagged Hibari into a dance of his own as a laughing Kyoko was passed his way by Yamamoto who now had hold of Fuuta he didn't lash out and instead took the lead. Reborn found that and honest smile tugged at his lips as he snagged Kyoko's hand and pulled her into a Broadway sort of swing dance. (It had taken a few repetitions, a couple of fights, and a long sit down to explain for Hibari to accept the idea of 'pack' but it was very nice to see the results of all the effort.)

It was a delight to be part of a family and share in the moments where they were together and laughing. (And if he had Leon somewhere recording the scene as well as taking pictures for a secret Scrapbook well no one had to know)
