carter reynold's point of view;
I sit on my patio with Madison. We had just came back from our honeymoon trip to Cuba. I liked the environment there yet, I was just glad to be home at my house.
My house was in a beautiful environment. No neighbors, no noise complaints, no noise. All you could hear was the water of the lake flowing by. It usually rained here. We technically live in a tropical rain forest in my opinion. It thunderstorms once a week at least.
We don't mind it. We both love thunderstorms, especially when I cuddle with my beautiful wife during them. I enjoy them during the morning. It is just a great feeling to wake up to.
My house is very large. Being an important buisness man like me, I've achieved the goal of owning this beautiful house.
My life is going good, just there is always that one bump in the road that annoys the hell out of you.
As I sit on the patio porch with my wife, talking quietly and gently to each other, I hear the sound of a window open.
Then, a slash of water went into my hair and down my neck, soaking my torso.
Madison's eyes widened as we both look up at the loud laughter. I see Matt sticking his head out of the window, clearly dying of laughter. I see the popped balloon parts on the floor, clenching my fists.
I sigh, standing up.
"I'll go talk with him. You go clean up." She said, stopping me before I went upstairs and talked to the kid myself.
There was the bump in the road. Matt is Madison's son from her ex husband. He is not to be spoken about but, let's just say they made the right choice leaving him before he went to jail.
Matt hates me. I hate Matt. Simple as that. As a normal human being, I distance myself from Matt as much as I can. But, the constant pranks, arguments, name calling, I'm sick of it.
I nod, kissing her soft, moisturized lips before entering the house. Madison and I walked up the stairs together, seperating only to enter seperate rooms. I saw her enter Matt's room before I went into my room that I share with Madison.
I take off my wet shirt, not minding the wet hair I have. I take a comb, leaning onto my sink while combing it back to perfection.
I hear angry yelling from down the hall in Matt's room. It must be coming from there because nobody else is here except us three.
I exit my room, quickly walking to Matt's room so the argument wouldn't get too heated. I open the door.
"I can't even relax with my own fucking husband. What the hell are you on?" Madison yelled at him.
"I'm not on anything. But, you're on his dick daily, so get the fuck out of my room. Go fucking relax." Matt yelled, sitting in his desk chair.
I grab her shoulder, trying to make her leave.
"No, he's being an asshole. He's always an asshole." She tries to persuade me to stay and yell at him.
"It's not worth it. The kid doesn't deserve your attention. That's all he wants. It's attention. Stop giving it to the asshole and let's go to the room." I say, glaring at Matt.
