Chapter 1- New Start

Anna's POV

"Dad I want to work till university starts" I said as I sat down to have breakfast along with my parents. "As you wish baby, anything that will make you happy" dad said. "Does Josh know about this Anna?" mom asked serving the pancakes. "Of course, its Josh's idea to keep me occupied mom" I said trying to smile. I am missing Josh badly. "I know that you will be there for each other, come what may" mom said smiling. "And I am really sorry for getting you away from Josh" Dad said placing his hand on my head and smiling at me weakly. "Come on dad! It's me who wanted to come with you people. Anyway it's just for a few days. Josh is going to shift here and is going to move in with us before university starts" I said smiling. "So, torcher is soon going to begin!" mom said and we laughed heartily.

First let me introduce myself. I am Anna Yardley, 21 and graduated from college. I am going to do masters. My dad Steve Yardley works as senior manager in a multinational company and got transferred recently. So, we shifted here two days back and my mom, Ruby Yardley is planning to open her boutique here also. Lucky for me I got seat in this states university only along with scholarship. But the only sad thing is that I have to move away from my Josh. Josephine Evas, Josh for short, is my best friend since we were in diapers. We have always been together and also got seat in the same university. But I have to move 2 months before university started because of dad's transfer. We bid our bye after warning each other to be careful and to Skype daily. Yesterday, after we settled here, she ordered me to take up a job till she comes here so that I would not feel lonely.

Mom and dad left soon after breakfast, mom to meet the agents to finalise the things about her boutique and dad for his first day at the headquarters. After cleaning everything, I began searching for any vacancies in the companies here where I could give a try. I found only two vacancy advertisements and the first is in the company in which my dad is working. I don't want to go there because I don't want them to take me as I am the daughter of their loyal employee. So, I have only one option left. I have to crack it, else I would have to work either as a helper or assist my mom. I sighed and noted down its details. I paired my knee length frock with converses. I applied light mascara and lip gloss and left my hair to naturally curl up. Putting on my Vans, I began to walk towards my destination as I decided against taking my car. It's just 15 minutes' walk from where we live. The weather is so nice and also I would get to know the place better if I go by foot.

I reached there and my jaw dropped at the view before me. The building is like a seven star hotel, totally made of glass. By looking at it no one could say that it is an office. I got in and the receptionist, Lacy, greeted me warmly. "I am sorry but you have to wait for a while Miss Yardley. Our MD is currently in a meeting with his clients. Please be seated in the waiting area." she said and booked my appointment for as soon as their MD comes here. I thanked her and walked towards where she mentioned. Sitting down, I couldn't help but look around. This place is really beautiful. Whoever designed it had a great taste.

I have been waiting from about 30 minutes and am getting bored sitting here. So I picked up the magazines placed there and began to read while I waited for their boss who would be my boss also, if I get this job.
