First day with HIM

Anna's POV

We soon reached the hotel where the meeting is being held. Victor guided us into the conference room and the view there made me want to puke. There sat a man with a girl in his lap and they seem to be kissing. I closed my eyes and clenched the bag tightly in my hand. I just want to run away from here and hide somewhere. Till now I am not interested in coming here but now I am feeling nervous.

"Good evening Victor. It feels nice to work with you again." I heard someone say and opened my eyes to find the man forwarding his hand to Victor which he took reluctantly. "I see that you got a beautiful assistant this time." the said looking at me and I tried to hide behind Victor. "Let's get to the business Daemon." I heard Victor say and thanked him in my heart. So, this is Daemon I thought and looked at him to find him already staring at me. We are moving towards the table when the girl came and hugged Victor. "Hi Victor it has been too long since our last meet." she said and I just want to push her away. I mean how she can hug Victor now when a minute back she is kissing another man "It feels nice to meet you again Stacy." Jack said coming forward.

"Come on Anna." Victor said taking my hand into his and guided me to the front. "You forgot to introduce your new assistant to us Victor." the man, Daemon, said and I just want to get away from him. "She is MY PERSONAL assistant Anna Yardley. And Anna he is the client Daemon." Victor said and from his tone it is clear that he is as irritated with Daemon as I am. We settled down and began discussing about the project. Daemon kept staring at me and the hunger in his eyes frightened me. I felt Victor's hand on the top of mine under the table. He smiled at me and pressed my hand as if assuring me that he would take care of me and I felt myself relaxing. The presentation continued for about an hour and most of the time Daemon kept staring at me with his predatory gaze. I so wanted to run away from here but I can't do something stupid that would cause loss to our company.

"Anna, study this bond and see if we can agree to it." Victor said handing me a file after the presentation. I studied the agreement and found the 13th clause ridiculous. "Victor I think maybe we should reconsider the 13th clause." I said pointing it to him. He just took the file without even reading it and kept it before Mr Daemon. "Daemon, I want you to eliminate the 13th clause." he said and I looked at him shocked. "You didn't even read it Victor. How can you trust whatever she said? I have prepared the agreement myself. There is nothing wrong in it. Everything is as we have agreed previously." Stacy said. "I can trust her with this company Stacy. If she said it is wrong then I am sure it is." Victor said and butterflies in my stomach began their dance. "But she didn't say it is wrong. She just said that we need to reconsider it and I know that there is nothing wrong in that clause." Stacy said.

Victor stood up to say something but Ryder stopped him. "Victor, I'll handle this. Anna, what does the clause say?" Ryder asked me. "It says that their representative who will be staying at our office till the completion of this project will have access to all the information that he thinks is needed to him and he can personally get it." I said. "So Miss Yardley what's wrong in that?" Stacy asked me folding her hands at her chest challenging me and I sat silently. I am not answerable to her only Victor, Ryder or Jack can question me about something. "I already told you Victor..." she began but Victor cut her off raising his hand. "Anna..." he said looking at me and I know he want me to explain. "It means that the person can get whatever information he felt that he need by himself. For that we have to grant him access to the store room and also to the information system of the company." I said looking at Stacy. "But how can we allow him the access? I mean there would be other information there as well and some of it may be confidential." I said looking at Victor and he smiled at me. "So Stacy, what do you say now?" Victor asked turning to her. "I...It do...doesn't me...mean that...that way." she said shuttering. "it just means that..." she began but Victor cut her off raising his hand at her, signalling her to stop.
