Chapter -4

"Alicia! I'm home!" that's daddy's voice!

I came running down the stairs, tripping twice in process.

"Daddy! you're home!" I said, running into his arms and hugging him.

"Yes, darling I'm home! and guess what I brought for you from Wisconsin?" he asked me.

"Chocolate bonbons?!" I asked, happily. I loved chocolate bonbons and since daddy went to Wisconsin three times a year, he always got me bonbons and since I only got one packet I savoured each and every bonbon.

"Yes, I got you chocolate bonbons!" he said.

"Yes! I got you bonbons! and a little something else, too...." He said, in a teasing voice.

"What, what is it.? " I asked him, curiously.

"I won't tell you...." he said, leaving the sentence hanging.

"Please daddy! tell me!" I said.

"Okay fine, but first..." he said, bending down to my level.

I was kinda short for my age.

"A peck on the cheek." daddy said.

"Okay." I said and pecked him on the cheek.

"So, here are your bonbons and here is your..... new necklace...!" daddy said.

"Oh daddy! it's so precious! I like it a lot! thank you daddy!" I said, hugging him.

The necklace was made of thin, white gold string which had a Heart in it, surrounded by a circle. the heart was covered in diamonds.

It was so beautiful.

"I'm glad you like it ballerina." he said.

Daddy always called me ballerina.

He was the best father ever! after I got adopted by the Richmonds 6 months ago, I was having a jolly good time with them. they treated me like their own child and never spoke a hurtful word. They sent me to school and even though I hated it I still went to it because it made them happy.

I always came first in the class and I studied very hard, because I wanted to make them as happy as I could.

It was the least I could do for them.

I went to the charlotte girls finishing school and it was the best in country.

Or so it was said.

It was know for it's rigid discipline and we had various subjects but we never studied science or anything the boys learned.
