Chapter 5- - -
Embarrassed. That was a simple way to put on what I feel right now. After Xander said what he said, I ran to the nearest toilet and locked myself in there. It's been around thirty minutes and I'm still here. I locked the bathroom, so no one else could go in but me.
How could I go out there and face Xander again? He'd surely tease me like there's no tomorrow!
A knock interrupted my thoughts. ''Laura? Are you in there?''
Serena! Thank God! Even if we weren't close, I'm pretty happy that she's here right now.
I opened the door immediately. ''Sere-''
Only, it wasn't Serena. It was Xander. What was he doing here?
''Here.'' He handed me a plastic bag avoiding my gaze. ''Uh-I I bought a black one so you know, if there's a-uh stain, it wouldn't be noticeable. I also don't know your size. I just, um, assumed that you and Serena were the same size. So, um, yeah.''
I blushed profusely. ''Th-Thank you.''
''No problem. I'll, um, wait outside, I guess.''
I nodded, giving him a small smile before closing the door. I honestly didn't know if me and Serena were the same size or not. Let's just hope that we were.
In the end, I figured that indeed, me and Serena were the same size. I washed my hands before fixing my hair. Wait, why am I fixing my hair? I've never been conscious on how my hair looks or how I look.
I opened the door with my right hand, as my used pants was inside the plastic bag on my left hand. Xander was waiting for me, while leaning on the wall, eyes closed. Was he sleepy?
''Xander?'' I called out softly. His eyes opened immediately.
''Oh, uh, you're done. Give me the plastic bag and the bag that you've packed.''
''No, it's fine. I can carry it.''
''Give it to me, Laura.'' He insisted. ''I won't be a gentleman if you won't let me carry it.''
''Fine.'' I gave him the plastic bag and my backpack.
''Where do you wanna go? Villa or the beach?'' He asked.
''Villa. I'm a bit tired, so I'm gonna take a nap.''
''Okay. I'm just going to fetch you in your room.''
''That's fine. I can go by myself. Thank you, though.''
''No, really. I insist. I wouldn't feel at ease if I let you go there alone.'' He gave me a toothy smile.
The rest of the walk was in silence. Not that I was complaining, though, because I didn't really know what to talk to him about, and how to respond to him if he asked me a question.

''So, how are you and Xander?'' Serena joked as I sat down cross-legged in the sand. She was already sitting down in the sand so she just watched me.
''What?''
''When you ran off after he said you had red stains, he looked everywhere for you!''
''He probably felt bad.'' I shrugged.
''Enough about him. Did you find a dress for prom?''
''It's months away. Plus, I don't even plan on going. You?''
''Not yet, but I'm going shopping with my peers next Friday, after school. Do you want to go with us?''
I mentally scoffed. Why would I go with her peers? They were the popular, stuck-up girls. ''No, thank you. I have work.''
