Chapter 6- - -
''Mom? Is that you, yeah?'' I asked while walking down the stairs of our house.
''Yes, honey! I'm home. Sorry I'm later than usual. Fashion week's coming up, and I really don't want anything wrong to happen. It could ruin the Roberts' clothing line.'' She said while putting all the things she carried in the table.
''That's fine. I just got home and took a nap anyway. Then a beeping sound woke me up, then I couldn't sleep anymore. How's the fashion week going?'' I asked genuinely interested. One of the courses I've applied in California College of the Arts was Fashion Design. Hopefully, I get in.
''Stressful. Some of the clothes aren't ready, yet. But they'll be finished by around Wednesday. So it's not that much of a problem.''
''Ah, can I see your design?'' I begged. ''Please?''
''Just one.''
''Yay!'' I cheered pushing my glasses up as they were about to fall. ''I want to see a dress!''
''Can you look at it later? I'm pretty hungry, and I'd like it if I could eat dinner first.''
''Definitely! I'll eat with you, yeah? I haven't eaten dinner yet and I'm starving.''
She nodded. ''Where's your dad?''
''Oh, he's at his office. Doing work, probably.''
''Could you call him down for dinner, honey?''
''Sure.''
As I was on the second floor, my breathing was so fast. I wasn't fit, so it would make sense why I haven't even reached my destination, yet here I am, breathing like a hippopotamus. My father's office was in the third floor.
Living room, kitchen, the maids' room and a guest room was in the first floor. The second floor consisted of my room, Landon's room, two guest rooms, a game room, and a music room. Our own library, my parents' room, and their offices were all located in the third floor. I didn't complain about being alone in the second floor, because it's pretty darn tiring to climb three floors.
When I finally reached my dad's office, I made sure to knock first. Then I opened the door without waiting for his reply. What's the use? I'm his daughter, anyway.
''Daddy? We're having dinner already.''
He looked up from his papers and smiled. ''Okay, dear. Let me just finish what I'm doing. I'll be down in ten minutes, the most.''
I nodded. Time to go back to the first floor. I sighed, just thinking about it.

''So, how's school, sweetheart?'' My dad asked in the middle of our dinner.
A piece of steak was in my mouth when my dad asked me that. So, it took me a few seconds to chew and swallow it before answering my dad. ''Good. I'm one of the top in our batch.''
He nodded. ''That's great. So, did you receive any letters from the colleges?''
''Not yet, they'll start giving out the letters probably two weeks from now. I'll let you know if I receive a letter from any college.''
My mom joined in our conversation. ''Okay, honey. Just remember, that no matter what college you'll be going to, we will always be proud of you.''
''Speaking of college, how's Landon?'' My dad questioned.
''He called this morning. He's doing fine, they have a break for two weeks, so he'll be coming around sometime this week. I didn't get the chance to ask him for the particular date, because I was in a hurry. He said he'll call you tonight, Laura.'' Mom said.
