********
I'm walking down the street with my camera in my hand and my phone to my ear, hearing my mom explain to me that I have to be home soon to eat dinner with with her and the neighbors. Something I dread doing.
I quickly tell her I'll be home soon and say goodbye before sitting on the bench at the bus stop.
I'm looking through the pictures I have taken today when the bus pulls up and shrieks to a stop. Putting my camera away, I pull out my bus ticket and climb on, handing my ticket to the driver as I do so.
I choose a seat towards the back and take pictures of the scenery as we pass by.
While I'm doing so, an ambulance and a police vehicle pass us. This is normal for the city I live in, so I don't think anything of it.
We pull up to the bus stop a block away from my house and I start to walk back home.
I step through the door and start to take my shoes off, before I can do so my mother comes into the hallway and stares at me. Her eyes are wide and filled with tears as she starts to speak.
"Mom, what's wrong? What happened?" I ask her.
She swallows and let's out a small sob before looking at me "Linnea... It's- it's Sarah. She was found In her room.." She trails off as I stare in horror."Mom what happened. What did Sarah do mom tell me!"
"Honey, Sarah took a whole bottle of pills last night and they just found her in her room"
I stand in shock before turning right around and running out the door. I start sprinting as fast as I can to Sarah's house, which is three blocks away. I get there and I see two ambulance drivers loading a stretcher into the back of the ambulance. There's a sheet covering it.
I know instantly who it is.
I see Sarah's mom crumpled to the ground sobbing and that's the end of me. I fall to my knees and sob into my hands as they shut the ambulance doors and being driving away. The sirens are off. So are the lights.Sarah, my best friend, is gone.
