It was now the 28th August and only three days until Hogwarts begun. They had apparated to Hogwarts a couple of days previously and were now settled in Severus' chambers. This is where Rhoda was for most of the year usually anyway. She knew her way round Hogwarts well.

"Rhoda? Are you sure you don't want to go on the train?" Severus sat in his armchair opposite his younger daughter.

"It's ok daddy. I can make friends when they arrive. I would prefer to know what house I'm in so I can make friends in that house specifically." She was a very intelligent girl, however both parents had been in Slytherin. Severus was sure that would be her route.

"You shall be fine Rhoda. Slytherin all the way though! I'll disown you as a sister If your not in Slytherin!" Severina walked in from out of her room. "Don't you think so dad?" Severina gave her dad a questioning look.

"No I do not! Any house is good, just not Hufflepuff! But I wouldn't disown you, like this insolent girl would." He wavered a hand in Severinas direction. She gave him a cold glare.

"Watever! I'm going to put my stuff in my Slytherin dormitory. Goodbye." She grabbed a trunk and hauled it out of the chambers.

"Daddy?" Rhoda stood up and in front of Severus.

"Rhoda." He acknowledged.

"Is Sese upset with people today?" Rhoda asked politely.

"This is how she is Rhoda. Rather a pain and very insolent at school. Ignore her. We should concentrate on your house sorting." Severus drawled.

Soon the time came. Rhoda waited for the other first years in the entrance hall. Severus sat at the teacher table and Severina at the Slytherin table. Severina didn't fit in with the other Slytherins but she was definitely a Slytherin.

The doors banged open and all the little eleven year olds filed in. Rhoda had seen it all before but she liked the atmosphere. It seemed different because she would finally start school. They huddled at the front and waited.

McGonogal unwrapped the paper and began to call out the names.

"James,Jemima"

"RAVENCLAW!"

"Hughes, Poppy"

"GRIFFINDOR!"

"Ford, Blake"

"SLYTHERIN!"

"Snape, Rhoda"

There were a few whispers but everyone knew who she was anyway. She apprehensively made her way to the school. Severina put her thumbs up and Severus nodded. She sat on the stool and the hat was placed.

"Ah! A true Slytherin. Your parents and sister have been there. Very true and great slytherins. But you can be dedicated. Yes, hardworking...loyal and fair...... It has to be, HUFFLEPUFF!"

People gasped and Severina shot daggers at her sister. Rhoda dragged the hat off her head. The Hufflepuff table didn't even clap. Rhoda's eyes filled with tears and she stood in shock. She looked to her father who sternly looked at her and not in a loving way at all.

Rhoda ran out of the hall quickly and didn't care where she ran.

Severus was shocked. The sorting carried on as normal, but he didn't listen. He don't know what to say, Severina kept looking at him. She was shocked as well. She felt disgusted but needed to control herself. She knew it wasn't Rhoda's fault. Or was it?

Severus got up with a loud bang and everyone stared at him.

"What? I am leaving the hall, is that a crime?" He spat. There were some mumbled 'no' and 'sorry sir'. He stormed from the hall and needed to find his daughter.

He was very angry, it was not her fault though. He searched the corridors and couldn't find her anywhere.

After about half an hour of searching he nearly gave up. He heard a slight sobbing and sniffling and followed where it came from. He came across the abandoned girls bathroom, which was home to moaning myrtle.

He walked in and opened a cubicle door. There sat his daughter. Curled up and with her arms around her knees, crying into her robes. Rhoda looked up and saw Severus. She panicked and stood up quickly.

"I'm sorry! It's not my fault! Don't punish me or anything. I didn't want to be in the house!" She cried harder and stared at Severus' angry eyes. They softened slightly.

"It's not your fault Rhoda. I just can't believe it. Hufflepuff of all houses!" He said through clenched teeth. He couldn't get angry, it was not her fault. "You are not a wimp like those Hufflepuffs! You are strong and sly. I don't understand why in Merlin's name you would be in that house. I thought I had a little Ravenclaw at least." Rhoda relaxed at his words and jumped off the toilet to hug Severus. He rubbed her back awkwardly.

"Can't I move? I really don't want you to be disappointed in me daddy!" She exclaimed through tears.

"There is no way of changing it Rhoda. This is how it shall be." He held her at arms length and looked at her, now, Hufflepuff ridden uniform. "We shall live with it. There is nothing wrong and I shall not hate you in anyway." Severus hugged her and then took her hand. They walked together down the corridors and back to the great hall. "Do you want to sit with me for a bit? Or join your table?"

"C-can I sit with you please daddy?" She asked sheepishly. Severus nodded and pushed the oak doors open. She walked fast with Severus as everyone stared at her. She heard comments like,

"Never thought that would happen!"

"She might kill us in our sleep"

"No way is she a true Hufflepuff"

Then a shout unnerved her.

"STUPID SNAPE! NO ONE WANTS YOU! GO TO SLYTHERIN WHERE YOU BELONG!" Severus let go if her hand and everything was deathly silent. He rushed over to the boy and grabbed his collar. He pulled the now terrified boy with him, back to Rhoda.

"Would you like to say that again Mr.Leland? Look into this girls eyes and say what you just said! Now!" Severus was purely angry but didn't shout. Harry Leland looked at the little girl and she was crying silently. Her eyes a brilliant caramel. He was in fifth year.

"I-I'm s-sorry." He struggled. He looked about to faint. Severus could really scare people. He pushed Harry away he scrambled to his seat quickly.

"Two weeks detention Mr.Leland. 60points from Hufflepuff." Then Severus knelt down and held Rhoda's arms.

"Do not listen to him Rhoda. Now come on, you need to eat." He got up and led her to his seat. He conjoined a new one and sat down. The teachers chairs were a lovely leather, so he let Rhoda sit there.

THAT WAS SHORT!! COULDN'T REALLY WRITE ANYMORE TO BE HONEST! I WANT TO GET TO THE BETTER STUFF!!! :-P :-P
