The Nightmare Boggart

Severus Snape P.O.V

How could that Weasley take advantage of my daughter like that? It was disgusting what they were doing. Staying out late and doings things like that. It makes me sick.

It's about 6:30am. I'll have to wait for a while before I can confront Weasley. He is in my potions class third period. I'll catch him after that then. Merlin, he won't know what's hit him.

I think ill owl Rhoda. I would like to speak to her.

Dear Rhoda,

Please come to my classroom when you wake. I would like to know how you are getting on. It's not even been a day but I feel I need to talk to you.

Dad.

I then attached the letter to my owl and let him out of the window. I waited and drummed my fingertips on my desk.

After about twenty minutes I heard faint skipping. It became louder and then a knock came on the door.

"Come in Rhoda." I called. The door opened slowly and her little face peered in. "Come on up here Rhoda." I told her. Maybe my voice sounded slightly cold. She slowly and hesitantly walked towards the desk. I motioned to one of my chairs. She sat down, her little legs dangling a foot from the floor. "Hello daddy." She spoke.

"Good morning dear Rhoda. How was your first night?" I tried to sound calmer and nicer.

"It's good thank you. The people ignored me. It's better than being mean though." She quickly justified. I knew she wasn't happy.

"Are you sure Rhoda?"

"Yes daddy. I'm pretty sure. Is Severina angry with me?" Her eyes sparkled slightly with unshed tears.

"Come here Rhoda." Wow! my voice sounded too soft then. My little Rhoda walked around the desk and stopped in front of me. I did something that surprised her and me actually. I lifted her up and sat her on my lap.

"No Rhoda. Severina is not mad with you. She's mad with the sorting hat an she's mad with me." Rhoda lay her head on my shoulder and I wrapped my arms around her waist. "It's not your fault Rhoda. But listen to me now, you show them Hufflepuffs that you are kind and helpful and loving. Make sure they aren't scared of who your father is and just make some friends. Be yourself. You can be mischievous and slightly naughty but your good side fills up way more of your personality. Now you shall be late for class, I love you Rhoda." Merlin's beard I can be nice. I can love and be loved!!!

"I love you daddy." She hugged me and I held her tight. "If anyone tries to hurt me I'll give them a piece of my mind. But first I'll try and make friends I promise." I let her go and she jumped off my lap and skipped to my classroom door.

"Have a nice day Rhoda!" I exclaimed. She is such a lovely girl.

Severina P.O.V

When I woke up there was no one in the dorm. I heard clanging in the bathroom so I went to see who it was.

"Hey Dee. (Nickname for Diana) Where are the the four bitches?" Diana was in the mirror doing her make up. She giggled at my greeting.

"Good morning Sev, they are down at breakfast. It's nearly half eight you know. I've only just woke up."

"No need to wake me up then." I huffed.

"Well, you got in at like 5 this morning so a I let you sleep. And yes, I heard you come in." She gave me a mischievous grin and carried on with what he was doing. I went back to my trunk and pulled out my uniform. My grey and green jumper, my casual shirt, green and silver ties, black and green robes, my knee high back socks, just above the knee black skirt and my custom made Slytherin converse. I joined Dee in the bathroom, still doing her make up and hair. I just looked in the mirror, grabbed my wand and made my hair slightly wavy and it went down to my mid back. With a bit of mascara I decided to leave for breakfast.

"Come on Dee I'm hungry! it's 8:45am and we need to be in lessons for 9." She reluctantly finished and I pulled her with me to the great hall. Me and Dee have made a plan where I sit with my friends at the Griffindor table at breakfast and she is at the Slytherin table. Then we both sit at the Slytherin table for lunch and both at the Griffindor table for dinner. I tolerate her silly Slytherin friends and she tolerates my Griffindor friends.

I said a quickly goodbye to Dee and sat next to Fred.

"Good morning beautiful." He said and kissed me on the cheek .

"Good morning my handsome." I giggled slightly. I leaned in closer to him. "I'll tell you about it on the way to D.A.D.A. Lee and George aren't with us then." I whispered. He nodded his head slightly and I started devouring a bowl of coco pops.

Everyone started leaving the great hall and in the end there was just a couple of Hufflepuffs, a Ravenclaw and four Slytherins sitting in the hall. All anxiously eating fast so as not to be late for class. I didn't really care to be honest. Me and Fred sat alone at the Griffindor table.

"Hi I'm Professor Lupin." I turned around to see a tall man with brownish hair and tattered robes. He did look like a nice man though.

"Good morning professor. My name is Severina Snape and this is Fred Weasley." I explained.

"Ah! I knew it. You two better hurry along as I am your D.A.D.A teacher." He smiled warmly.

"Oh yes professor. Sorry. Come on Fred." I got off the bench and pulled Fred with me. We intertwined our hands and I started to explain. Everything that happened. Filch, Dad, the legilimency and how dad seemed to take the news. Fred looked a little sorry for me until I told him what my dad had muttered.

"Oh no. I'm going to die. What if he tests a potion on me and it kills me?" He looked slightly anxious.

"Don't worry Fred. He would never hurt you because that would hurt me." I pulled his tie so he would come to my level and kissed him on the lips. "Don't worry about it, seriously." I let go and we carried on walking to Professor Lupins classroom.

When we arrived at the class Lupin was already at the front talking. We slid in and sat down on our seats at the back.

"God he's like my dad. We should have been here way before him." I whispered to Fred. He just snickered.

"Something to say Miss.Snape?" Lupin turned and asked me.

"Yes actually sir. I was just telling Fred how you got here belfry us even though we left the hall before you." I smiled at him.

"Ah yes. You are correct. However, I know this castle well and indeed passed you without your recognition. Anyway, so I am aware that you have studied Boggarts but am I right in thinking you have not gone against one?" Lupin asked. We all mumbled yes's or just nodded our heads. "Today is your lucky day. I have a boggart with me however it is in the staff room in a cupboard. If you could all line up and then follow me please." We did as he said and me and Fred stood right at the back of the line. We followed Lupin through the halls and passed classroom. Me and Fred pulled faces at George and Lee as we passed the Arithmancy classroom. They laughed but got told off. Me and Fred were laughing all the way to the staff room after that.

When we got there we all went inside. It was quite big actually. I saw Mcgonnogal and dad sitting talking to one another. They just ignored us all and moved slightly when we had to move a couple of tables out of the way.

"Ok. First thing we need to do is learn the incantation. When faces with a boggart you must say 'Riddikulus'. This fights the boggart and along with laughter can defeat it altogether. Once faced with the boggart thing of something funny and then say the incantation. Right." He clapped his hands together." "Let's line up and we shall face the boggart one by one." We all carefully lined up. Me and Fred got separated and I was about fifth in line.

Here we go. I wonder what I am actually scared of. Oh well. I just watched the others in front of me. The first person, Sally I think, stood forward. Lupin opened the door and the boggart flew out. It was a large bat and she squealed. She stood for a moment before shouting the incantation. The bat was dressed in a tut and started doing ballet! The whole class bawled with laughter and then came the second person.

I could have cried with laughter. This one turned into my dad. I think the girl was called Ronnie or something. My real dad didn't look happy. Ronnie watched the boggart as it insulted her potions work. She said the incantation and my dad suddenly was stood in a bright orange mankini. His worst colour. I burst out laughing but everyone else just watched my dad worriedly. He didn't move.

"Miss.Day that will be a detention with me tonight. 6oclock." That's all he said. I just couldn't stop laughing. After that it turned into a zombie which became a zombie with big ears and buck teeth. Then the persons in front of me was an alligator, but the alligator then lost all it's teeth and became quite small.

Finally it was my turn. The tiny alligator stared at me for a moment before turning into the worst sight I have ever seen.

Fred lay there lifeless with blood all over his body and cuts. I screamed. I couldn't say the incantation. You
Cannot make a situation like this funny. I looked to my dad in horror and everyone was silent and staring at me. Lupin seemed edgy but didn't know what to do. I felt got tears streaming down my face and I turned back to see it had changed into my dad.

"I told you not to marry a worthless Wealsey, you didn't listen so I have killed him." He stayed walking closer to me and my real dad watched with worry and terror on his face. I know he would never do anything like that.

"Severina just say the incantation it's okay." Lupin told me. He walked closer and I walked back. The tears coming more and more.

"I don't want to do this Severina but you should have listened." He raised his wand I screamed but I fell to the floor staring at him and I covered my face.

"NO PLEASE! DONT DO IT!" I cried. Suddenly I heard someone shout the incantation and dad knelt next to me with his arms around my shoulders and Fred did the same.

"It's okay Sev. It was only a boggart." Fred soothed. He held my hand.

"Class dismissed!" Lupin shouted. "Go on and have break!" He ushered everyone out of the class.

"I'm sorry Mr.Weasley but I shall ask you to leave as well. I think Severus and Severina need to talk." I felt Fred leave and he patted my hand.

"Of course sir. I'll see you in a bit Sev." He told me. I nodded but didn't move my hands from my face. I cried silently and leant against my father.

"What happened Severina? That was horrible." He prised my hands from my face and I saw that it was only us two.

"Th-that's what I'm s-scared of dad." I mumbled.

"Don't be Severina. I would never hurt you or even Weasley. Even if I wanted to hurt Weasley I wouldn't. It would hurt you and I would not want that to happen." Even though it was still his boring tone it relaxed me a little.

"I know you wouldn't do that I didn't even fear it. But obviously I did deep down." I started to calm down. "I am such a wussy for a Slytherin. I don't deserve to be in this house". I mumbled.

"You do. I am proud of your abilities Severina. You are a true Slytherin even if you don't think so. Now I shall give you a calming potion and then you can get off the class. Or meet
Mr.Weasley (he said that with gritted teeth.) in the great hall." I just nodded and got up. I walked with him to his classroom and drank the potion.

"Thanks dad." Is all I could say. I hurried off to the great hall Fred was siting with George, Lee, the golden trio and that Neville boy.

"Hey guys." Fred whipped his head round and jumped out of his seat.

"Oh Severina! I am so sorry for what you saw." He squashed me into a bit hug. I returned the favour. "I love you so much. No matter what your dad thinks I don't think he would kill me. Like that anyway, it was horrible. I wish you hadn't seen that." We stood there for a while. I wouldn't let go.

"I love you Fred Weasley. Please don't leave me no matter what." I whispered.

"No matter what Severina Snape." He kissed the top of my head and I heard a sneer. It was dad walking past us. I giggled and he glared at me so I did the same.

"I think me and my boyfriend deserve some time together thank you father." He just carried on walking and I sat down next to Fred.

"Don't you go to the slytheirn table for lunch?" George asked me.

"Yeh but I think I deserve to stay here this time. Just this once"

"Yeh your right. Fred told me what you saw. Sounds awful to me. I wouldn't be surprised if your dad did do that if you two got married- ow!" Hermione hit him with a book. "Hermione what was that for?" He exclaimed. I laughed.

"That's horrible to say that. Snape would never kill Fred. He is nowhere near that mean!" Hermione justified. I thanked her.

After a while I had finished eating. I was just looking at nothing in particular. Fred had my hand in his but was laughing with Harry and Ron. George had left with Lee for some pranking. I love those guys. I don't know why Fred didn't go though.

"Fred." I waved my hand in front of his face. He stopped and looked at me.

"Yes love?"

"Why didn't you go with George and Lee?"

"I wanted to stay with you." He smiled sweetly. Something's going on.

"You haven't even been speaking to me though."

"I'm sorry. Shall we leave the hall? We have free lesson after this anyway. An hour and a half to ourselves before potions."

"Ok fine." I pretended to be annoyed. He came closer and whispered in my ear.

"I want to show you that I am very much alive." I giggled he placed a small kiss on my lips. "Let's go." Before I could say anything he hauled me off the bench and walked fast to somewhere I don't know yet. Suddenly George came round the corner.

"Fred!" He exclaimed. Great Fred's going to leave me. "We need you right now! I'm sorry Severina." George came and pulled Fred away from me. He gave me a sympathetic look and I just waved at him. Way to ruin the moment. Oh well I can wait for a while.

I just dawdled around and decided to sit out by the lake.

Rhoda P.O.V

(BREAKFAST TIME- EARLIER THAT DAY)

This doesn't seem too bad. When I got up this morning people just didn't really notice me much. At least I'm not being bullied. I hate crying. I was surprised at my dad last night though. He's never been so affectionate even to me. He is just looking out for me though, I guess. I love my dad so much. When I had got dressed this morning in went down to the great hall for breakfast.

I'm slightly shy but I am going to make at least one friend today, I know it. I sat down next to a kind looking girl with light brown hair and blue eyes. She looked similar to another girl down the table.

"Erm... Hi I'm Rhoda, Rhoda Snape." I held out my hand. The girl looked at me and shook my hand. Good start.

"Hi I'm Sarah Abbott, my sister up there-" (She pointed to the similar looking girl) "-her name is Hannah Abbott she's my older sister by two years."

"Well hello Sarah. (I pointed to my sister) that there is my sister Severina, and my dad is professor Snape. My sister is four years older than me. I'm really excited for the classes. Are you Sarah?" I asked the girl.

"Yeh. My sister warned me about your dad though. No offence but she said he's mean and never happy."

"Well she would be right." I giggled and so did she. "He doesn't really show emotions but he is the best dad ever."

"We best be going. Don't want to be late for herbology." Ooh, that seems interesting. I just nodded and me and Sarah walked down to the green houses.

"We have my dad just before lunch! I can't wait. It's flying after herbology though. That sounds fun anyway. I've never flew a broom before." After that we just walked and didn't say anything. Until Sarah squealed and ran to a group of people.

I followed and Sarah pulled me in front of her.

"Ok. Listen guys. This girl is really nice and is nothing like her father. Don't be nasty to her please. She is my new friend." They all nodded. "Ok. Thanks guys." She turned to me. "This is Tom Williams-" she pointed to a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes "-this is Daisy West-" a girl with blonde pigtails and green eyes "-Joanna Bloomsbury-" a girl with black hair and orangey yellow eyes "-and last but not least, Kyle Castton." This boy was dreamy. He had slightly long spiky brown hair and perfect teeth, eyes, lips and lovely golden eyes.

"H-hi. I'm Rhoda Snape." I stuttered. I shook Kyle's hand and the others. Suddenly someone barged into us. A boy stool there with a smirk. Slytherins.

"Oi don't leave us out." The boy stood tall with two other people behind him. A boy and a girl. "None of you know us so I'll cut to the chase. I'm Jamie Yaxley, this is Blaise Ashton and Mercy Andrews. You better watch your back silly puffs." Then he just walked away. What the hell? Weirdo.

Me and my new friends walked into the green house and stood at a large table. A short day woman then came in.

"Good morning first years. I am Professor Sprout. You lot must be Slytherins and Hufflepuffs?" We all nodded. "Good. Today we shall be talking through the theory of devils snare. I do not have a devils snare at the moment but I can easily explain it. Please all sit down and take out a parchment and quill to take notes." There was a lot of shuffling and people taking seats. I sat between Sarah and Tom. I don't think I'm going to like herbology much. I don't know why, but I was staring at Jamie. I was overhearing his conversation.

"This class stinks. But it's probably not as bad as potions." I started getting angry, I knew what was going to happen. "My sister told me that the greasy haired git is a right old bat and a rubbish teacher."

"You don't know what your on about Yaxley." I spoke up. Some people gasped and Sarah gave me a 'stop before you get hurt' look. "I know what I'm doing sarah." I whispered. Professor Sprout had disappeared for a minute. Yaxley got up with his goons and walked over to me.

"What did you say Snape?" He glared at me and I got up. Sarah grabbed my wrist.

"I said, you don't know what your on about Yaxley. Have you got bad hearing?" He slightly nudged my chest with his finger.

"Your going the wrong way Snape. I'd stop now before you get hurt."

"I don't think so." I scoffed. "You insulted my dad and his teaching. I know he is a great teacher because he taught me."

"Well then your just a silly teachers pet aren't you. Trying to learn the whole of Hogwarts curriculum before you get here." Him and his goons laughed at me.

"Well I want to get far in life. You know, actually get a job and not sit on my stupid ass all day." I decided to imitate his voice, much to his horror. "I'm Jamie Yaxley. I'm a first year Slytherin and feel like I'm the most popular boy in scgool. My sister is a sadistic bully and my head is stuck so far up my own arse that I can't get down anymore. I am afraid of heights though." The whole class was laughing and Yaxley had his fists balled up in anger and he glared at me. God I should be six feet under by now.

Professor Sprout came back in.
"Enough class. Oh no, I don't want that. Mr.Yaxley can you go back to your seat please. Miss.Snape sit down. I would like to carry on my class." My back was to Professor Sprout so I stuck my tongue out at Yaxley. He huffed and went back to his seat. I sat down and Sarah stared at me.

"You are so in for it now. His sister is evil." Sarah whisper-yelled. "I'd really watch out Rhoda."

"Shut up Sarah. That was wicked!" Tom exclaimed. I giggled.

"Thanks tom. I know you care Sarah but I'm not going to let someone diss my dad and get away with it." I turned to face the front of the class and listened whilst writing notes.
