While Leo works, I keep watch. Caves are not safe like camp is.

Leo works now on a project, through his mutters I can only figure he is building some kind of cloaking device.

"Is it working, bud?" He asks.

I walk around to face him. I shake my head, clicking and whirring. ".. ... . . -.-- --- ..-".

Leo furrows his brow and kicks the small machine halfheartedly. I blow a bit of steam, warning him not to damage it.

Leo does not avert his eyes from the machine as his fingers tap absentmindedly on his thigh. - .. .-. . -.. I recognize. He is tired.

I tell him he should get to sleep, but he hardheadedly decides to keep working. I watch him until I sense something on the other side of the cave.

A dark shape starts to form in midair. I quickly pick Leo up as gently as I can with my metallic teeth. Afraid to hurt him by grabbing his skin or hair, I bite his shirt and lift him up.

"Wha- Festus! Hey hey what're you doing? Dios mio, put me down!"

I drop Leo behind a stalagmite and click at him to stay down. He looks angry, but listens.

I make my way toward the small dark figure. Leo peeks out from behind the rock, and his eyes widen.

"Is that-"

I click rapidly, telling him to stay away, but he relapses into his anger.

"YOU," He says, pulling his sledgehammer from his tool belt.

I slam my tail on the ground between Leo and Nico, separating them. Leo stops momentarily to look at me. The last time his face held that expression he was telling me that we were going to commit suicide.

"I'm sorry, bud." He pulls a small remote from his tool belt and points it at me. I roar in protest before everything goes black.
