Percy turned over in his bed.

"You promised,"

Percy bolted upright, breathing hard. He couldn't help it.

"You promised,"

Percy ran his hands through his hair. Some hero he was. He'd let Nico down, again and again. He'd promised to protect Bianca. He failed. And when Nico tried to be his friend, he turned away. Scenes flashed through his mind.

"You promised,"

He'd failed.

"You mean you don't trust me anymore."

But he should have.

Percy couldn't handle the guilt. Nico was a kid. A strong kid, but still. He'd lost his mother, then sister. He ran away again and again and Percy never could help.

"Percy," said a voice from the window. Percy opened it.

"Hi, Annabeth." He said as she climbed in. "Couldn't sleep?"

"I could. I came here because you might not."

Perch sighed. "When I'm not dreaming of Tartarus-" They both shuddered. "-I'm dreaming of Nico. And Leo."

Annabeth frowned. "It's not your fault, Percy. You-"

"I saved the world like, twice, Annabeth! But I can't even help two of my closest friends!" Percy hated to cry in front of anyone but his mom, but he couldn't help it.

"I just..."

Annabeth pulled him into a hug. "It's not... Your fault."

Percy pulled back and wiped her tears "Or yours," he said gently. It worried him when Annabeth cried. It was no easy feat to break someone that strong.

"We'll find them." He assured her. He hugged her tighter, trying to convince himself. "We'll find them."
