Clarity ~ Captain America (Going Under Major Editing)

Chapter Three

"I know this neighborhood. I got beat up in that ally. And that parking lot. Behind that diner." Steve said looking down.

"Did you have something against running away?" Peggy asked from the front seat.

"Start running they'll never let you stop. Stand up, push back. They can't say no forever right?"

"I know what that's like a little. To have ever door shut in your face." I say finally getting into the conversation.

"I don't understand why you want to join the army I mean for a beautiful dame. I mean women. A Sargent. Not a dame. You are beautiful. But-"

"You have no idea how to talk to women do you?" Peggy asks.

"This is probably the longest I had with any women. Women aren't actually lining up to dance with a guy they might step on." Steve confesses.

"You must've danced." I said looking at him.

"Asking a women to dance always seems so terrifying. And the past few years just didn't seem to matter that much. Figured I'd wait."

"For what?"

"The right partner." I smile and look ahead to see Peggy smiling at me.

We stop at a local antique shop. Steve gets out first and offers his hand to help me get out which I gladly accepted.

"This way." Peggy says heading into the shop.

"What are we doing here?" Steve asks.

"Follow me."

We head inside the shop to see an old lady at the counter.

"Wonderful weather this morning isn't it?" The lady asked us.

"Yes but I always carry my umbrella." Peggy says as the lady pushed a botton. A secret door  opened. We head inside the S.S.R headquarters. Once we arrive everyone falls silent. We stared to head down some stairs to meet up with Dr. Erskine.

"Good morning." Dr. Erskine says while shaking Steves hand. Just then a camera light went off. "Not now." Dr. Erskine says shooing off the camera man. "You ready?" He questions Steve. Steve shakes his head. "Good take off your shirt, tie, and hat." Steve did just as he was told. "Comfortable?"

"It's a little big." Steve jokes. Dr. Erskine and I laugh a little. "Save me any of that drink?" Steve questions.

"Not as much as I should have." Dr. Erskine confesses. "Sorry. Mr. Stark how are the levels?"

"Levels at one hundred percent."

"Good."

"We dimmed half the lights in Brooklyn but we are ready." Stark says. "Ready as we ever be."

"Sargent Tomlinson, don't you think it be more comfortable in the room?" Dr. Erskine questions.

"Oh yes. Sorry." I started to walk up the stairs to the room where everyone else was. I turned back and gave Steve a quick small smile which he returned. I sat down next to Peggy. She smirks at me. I gave her a questioning look.

"Is this thing on?" I heard Dr. Erskine voice say. "Ladies and gentleman, today we take another step towards peace." Then he started saying some scientific stuff that I could care less about. All I cared about was Steve. I kept my eyes on him the whole time. "Five...Four...Three...Two...One." The serum started going into Steve. I grabbed onto Peggy's hand and squeezed it. She looks and me but quickly looks back at what was going on with Steve. Then I started to hear Steve scream. I ran out of the room.

"Shut it down! You're hurting him! Shut it down!" I scream at Dr. Erskine.

"No! Don't! I can do this!" I hear Steve scream. They continued on with the experiment.

"That's one hundred percent." Howard said. Just then the machine turned off. The doors opened to revele a taller and muscular Steve Rogers. I ran down the stairs to him.

"How do you feel?" I question Steve once I got to him.

"Taller much taller." He jokes. I smile.

"You look taller." I state. Just then there was an explosion from the room we all sat in and watched. Steve quickly covered me.

"Stop him." I heard Dr. Erskine yell. Then gunshots where heard. I looked up to see Dr. Erskine fall. Peggy and I grab our guns and started shooting. The hydra agent shot another towards us. Then I quickly felt pain in my left shoulder. I looked down to see blood.

"Sky!" I heard Peggy yell.

"I'm fine just go get the son of a bitch." I said while holding my shoulder. Just then Howard rushed.

"Medic we need a medic!" Howard tell. "Sky come on stay with me."

"I'm not going to leave idiot! I'm not dying! Just get the damn bullet out of my shoulder!" I yell. Howard laughs knowing I'm fine just expect for the bullet in my shoulder. "Where is Steve." I question.

"He ran after that guy." Howard tells me.

I was taken up to a room to get the bullet out. Steve was just across the hall. Once they got it out with out permission I left to go make sure Steve was okay. I knocked on the door.

"Steve?" I question.

"Sky! Are you okay?" Steve said while running up to hug me. I couldn't move my left arm so I could only hug him with my right.

"I'm fine. They got the bullet out nothing to serious. Are you okay?"

"Yeah just shocked after what just happened." Steve said looking out the window. "Excess me." He said while walking out of the room. Peggy and I decided to follow him.

"Hydra is the nazi deep science devision." Peggy said as we walked into the room. "There leader is Schmidt. Think he is invisible."

"As of today the S.S.R is being retasked as of today. We are taking the fight to hydra." Colonel Phillips says. "Back you let bags you too. Oh and you too Stark. We are flying to London."

"Sir! If your going after Schmidt I want in." Steve said.

"You're an experiment."

"The serum worked." Steve argued.

"I asked for an army and all I got was you. You. You are not enough." Colonel said while walking away.

"Steve." I said walking up to him.

"Sky? Aren't you suppose to be leaving soon?" Steve questions.

"Yeah I just didn't want to leave without saying goodbye." I confess. 

"I'm sure we will see each other again Sky."

"I know but what if-" Steve cuts me off.

"Sky I promise."

"Okay. But you better keep your promise." I say.

"I will." I go and hug him.

"Bye Steve."

"Bye Sky." I turn and walk away not knowing if Steve will keep his promise or not.
