4: My Views on Mainstream Music
NOTE: I'm not 'hating. Everybody can listen to what they like. This is just my opinion on the subject, okey?
Well, it depends on what you mean by mainstream. Like.. Mainstream pop and stuff? The songs that are on the top 20 hit of the week and all? Well.. When I was younger, I used to know all the songs on those lists. Mainstream was the best music ever. But now I don't particularly like it. Sure, there are some songs that aren't so bad but in general, I prefer not to listen to it.
My favourite band is Pierce the Veil. Compare that to the works of Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber etc?
They may have tattoos and scream but they have lyrics with MEANING and I like it :3
For example,
I kissed the scars on her skin.
I still think you're beautiful
And I don't ever wanna lose my best friend -A Match Into Water, Pierce the Veil
Compared to:
Swag, swag, swag on you..
Sitting by the fire, eating fondue -Boyfriend, Justin Bieber
